It’s always fun when you hear your favorite artists and bands talking about what music they’re currently digging, and we thought it’d be a great idea to hand deliver you those songs in a neat little package. That being said, we could not be more excited to be debuting our brand new feature, PropertyOfZack Playlist, where bands, touring packages, labels, and staff members will be bringing you playlists that you can listen to directly on Spotify while reading a description about the songs or mix on a whole.
We’re more than proud to be debuting the feature with the Major/Minor Tour that includes O’Brother, Moving Mountains, La Dispute, and Thrice. We’ll be bringing you many more jam-packed Playlists as well in the future, so always check back!

This is a list of 10 songs that I’ve been listening to on repeat for the last few weeks. If you’re not familiar with any of these bands, and you like what you hear I highly suggest you check these bands out. Definitely worth your time. Turn it up and enjoy! - Anton Dang

I created this playlist as a joke to play while driving in the middle night. I just thought of all the random and ridiculous songs I had heard throughout my life and tried to put them all on one totally awesome collection like in those late night infomercials. My intention was to get a “what the hell are you playing!?” reaction from the other guys in the van. Some of the songs are pretty rad while others are pretty terrible but all of them are absolutely hilarious to hear driving through the middle of nowhere at 4am. - Mitchell Lee

A.A. Bondy - How Will You Meet Your End
This is a pretty haunting track by one of my favorite singer/songwriters. An often appropriate listen during these all night drives. Such a beautiful voice, more people should be listening to Mr. Bondy.
MODULAR - Everest *Song is currently not on Spotify
I came across this project about a month ago and was blown away. Not only by the musicianship (I mean, we are talking about Matt Chamberlain, Viktor Krauss, and Dan Phelps) but also by the concept of the record. The group took actual sonic readings and data from the earth and reconstructed that information into 6 pieces of music. Look it up, it’s pretty incredible.
Laura Veirs - I Can See Your Tracks
Opening track from Ms. Veirs “July Flame.” This record is one I find myself returning to often.Tucker Martine’s organic production adds so much to these beautiful folk tunes. I hear something new with every listen.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five
These gentleman not only popularized jazz music in the late 50’s, but did so with a record filled with unusual time signatures. Listen closely to Joe Morello, the man was brilliant.
Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy
One of my favorite songs from the early 90’s. Vass and I got on a Gin Blossoms kick around the same time so there’s been a lot of sing-alongs in the van. Now I almost wish I’d done a 90’s playlist. - Brad Vander Lugt

Augustana - Steal your Heart
Hadn’t ever heard any music from these guys till I saw them play this song on a late show. It’s great. Very, very Springsteen-esque in the best way. - Dustin Kensrue
We Are Augustines - Headlong Into the Abyss
Was a free download on iTunes. Indie vibe with sort 90’s rock/punk feel to the vocals that I dig; raw in a way that doesn’t feel calculated (makes me think of early Jawbreaker.) Good energy. I’m a sucker for this rhythm. - Dustin Kensrue
The Low Anthem - Charlie Darwin
I believe I also got this as a free iTunes download. Apparently Apple controls my exposure to new music. I wish all of their stuff was like this because it’s fantastic. Very dreamy, beautiful melody, haunting vocals. - Dustin Kensrue
We Barbarians - Chambray
Close friends of mine who just released an EP with this song on it. The whole EP has a pretty unique 80’s feel infused into it and all the songs are constantly stuck in my head. Check it, buy the EP (and their other records), and catch them live, they put on a killer show. - Teppei Teranishi
Beach House - Zebra
I listened to this record a lot when it came out a year or two ago and have just recently rediscovered it. I really love singer Victoria Legrand’s voice. Good stuff. - Teppei Teranishi
No Knife - The Spy
This song has been one of my favorite songs for a long time… No Knife has been a hugely influential band to me, and this of all their amazing songs has always meant a bit more to me. The Beautiful dark mood of the song just makes me melt. Perfect flow, feel and dynamics. - Ed Breckenridge
Mark Hollis - A Life (1895 -1915)
This is another song that has a huge number of plays on my playlist. Another dark and pretty song… Mark Hollis has such a beautiful way of composing songs that are abstract yet don’t rub you in a way the usual abstract composition might. I love the story and the movement of the song. So minimalist yet so complex. So perfect. - Ed Breckenridge
Mastodon - Octopus Has No Friends
It’s been really tough for me to pick a favorite track from the new Mastodon record, The Hunter, because I love the entire record so much, it’s been about all I’ve listened to for the past week. At first, I thought “Spectrelight” was my favorite because of the brutally heavy riffing and triplet feel were such an audio punch in the mouth. But the more I listen to the record, the more this track grabs me and gets stuck in my head. It’s strangely (and incredibly) catchy for a Mastodon track, and the chorus is just infectious. - Riley Breckenridge
Jakob - Safety In Numbers
Being on tour and around loud rock music from about 2pm to 11pm, means I need a little music to come down to. This track (and entire album, actually) has been a go-to for years. It’s hypnotic, epic, and uplifting post-rock from New Zealand, and (in my opinion) one of the best and most underrated bands in the genre. - Riley Breckenridge
