PropertyOfZack is glad to be hosting a brand new Track-By-Track feature with a relatively new band called Currents. Their self-titled debut EP was produced by Justin Powell (The Cab) and Kyle Black (Set Your Goals, Pierce The Veil, All Time Low) and is reminiscent of Thrice and Taking Back Sunday. The EP is set to be released for free download on November 1st. Check out the feature below!

L is for Lush
The last relationship I was in was a tough one. I went through a lot of rough times. Sometimes you get to a point where things and people are out of control. You can try as hard as you want to help but there’s nothing you can do. If you’ve ever been in one of these relationships you can relate to trying to help someone when all they do is push you away. When you add different kinds of abuse into the situation whether its verbal, physical, or substance it becomes time to walk away.

Chase the Sun
Prior to the band I wrote these lyrics. I had just gone through what I thought would be the end of me continuing to pursue music. When you’ve given all you’ve got whether it being to a relationship, passion, or career & you don’t feel your hard work paying off it starts to wear on you. Somehow writing it all down put things in perspective for me. You have to learn your limits & just trust your instincts.

What Big Teeth you Have
We were working out the music for the song, it was actually the last song written for the EP. We thought about what all the other songs were about and decided that we wanted to do something totally different for the song. Instead of sitting down and writing what came out we decide to write about a concept. We thought little red riding hood, we could be a cool concept from the wolf’s point of view. Kind of how certain things bring out the wolf or the aggressor in everyone.

Cause I’m a G
After an insane Vegas weekend I shared with bunch of friends John & I wrote this track. We really wanted to capture the whole vibe of the trip so this song turned out being really energetic and is actually one of my favorite tracks on the EP. It’s about summer love & all the things that happen & should stay in Sin City.
