Hot off the curtails of the title track of their new album, Senses Fail released follow-up track “New Years Eve” that did anything but disappoint.
Right from the start you can’t escape the screams that are reminiscent of Thrice’s Vheissu and will be a pleasant enjoyment to anybody who liked “The Fire” or who was hoping for something even harder. Quickly and seamlessly, the screams transfer into Buddy Nielsen’s clean and crisp vocals as he sings “I’m clear as glass // But I can’t seem to ever clean // The fingerprints you left on me.”
“New Years Eve” could have been a disaster with the rate of changes from screams to clean vocals, but Senses Fail pull it off perfectly as Dan Trapp’s drums prove to be a force to reckon with throughout the song.
Buddy has said that the album is filled with both cleaner songs and heavier songs, and as of this moment, the heavier songs do not seem to be disappointing.
