Eartha Kitt’s classic “Santa Baby” is a cheeky flirt, a bit of sly sensuality for a mostly-chaste holiday (mistletoe tricks notwithstanding), but in the hands of VersaEmerge’s vampy Sierra Kusterbeck, it turns downright filthy. Kusterbeck coos and insinuates her way through each verse, each syllable rolled and savored like a cherry stem being knotted, while underneath Blake Harnage’s dubby synthesized basslines throb and pulse in anticipation. Mrs. Claus had best be on her guard, because next to the milk and cookies at the bottom of the chimney hides a succubus with eyes locked on her chubby hubby. I’ve got news for you, Santa: sometimes the naughty boys get the best presents of all. Merry XXXmas!
