In a year where Forever The Sickest Kids shed both a record label and two members, it would be hard to blame the band for lacking the Christmas spirit this winter. But persevere they have; “Mistletoe Is For Quitters” marks the band’s second release as free agents. There’s nothing real original about this unabashedly emo lament for loves lost, but really, you can’t go wrong by quoting the greatest Christmas song of all –that would be “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” for those counting. Besides, between Jonathan Cook’s heart-on-sleeve voice and the uber-charming keyboard twinkles that gussy up the chorus, it would take a heart two sizes too small to not find room to love this little charmer. An unassuming, sweet little-song-that-could from a band that could use all the “I think I can” that it can get right now.
