“If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is” is entirely different from Chiodos and yet in the vein of early Saosin and My Chemical Romance. Craig Owens’s vocals sound more harnessed and his lyrics better than ever while Aaron Stern’s drumming proves to be a masterpiece in its own. Both parts are tied together with the rest of the band, who have no problem carrying their own weight.

Owens does not hold back against Chiodos as the song’s music perfectly matches his lyric’s intensity. The track starts with Owens eerily singing, “So friends // You left me hanging in a room with a noose and a chair // You told me to stay put // And reminded me why I was there” and gives way to a frenetic riff and Stern’s hard hitting drums that stay constant throughout the whole track.

Though the song is only two and a half minutes long, D.R.U.G.S are able to showcase their musical ability while ripping open a new wound in Chiodos’s skin while Owens sings “Today was the day you tried to shut me down” and to put it simply, they did anything but succeed.

Sometimes it’s best not to fight change. Chiodos have moved on from their former leader and now Craig Owens has showed the world that he will be just fine without his former confidants.
