You Me At Six, The Swellers, We Are The Ocean, and Twin Atlantic are heading out on a semi-British invasion tour starting this week, and we think it’s one of the best tours of the early-New Year. To help push the tour, PropertyOfZack is stoked to do a Playlist with all four bands on the tour. Check out the Playlists and listen to the songs while reading everyone’s thoughts!

Portugal. The Man - The Sun
These are the songs that grace our individual and collective band stereos while in a van, on a bus, on a plane or in a dressing room. These are the tunes that have been keeping us inspired over the past few months of travel. We have a pretty eclectic music taste but we luckily almost always agree on good music when we show each other artists we love. Have a listen and see what you think.

Taking Back Sunday - One Eighty By Summer
One of my all time favourite bands. They have never put out a bad record. Tell All Your Friends is a masterpiece. This is probably my favourite TBS song, taken from the Where You Want To Be album.
Blink 182 - Dammit
One of the first songs to get me into punk rock. I remember being around 14yrs old and me and my school friend would cover this song along with a variety of other Blink, Offspring and Green Day songs. Him on guitar and me on drums.
The Offspring - The Kids Aren’t Alright
Following on from Blink really. They paved the way for most of the bands that i got into growing up and my friends and i used to jam this song in our school music room.
Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA
The Boss doesn’t need much of an explaniation. I can’t really pick one inidivual song, i could easily do an entire playlist just for him, but i’ll go with Born.. on the basis that i think its his best album.
Saves The Day - See You
Again, a band that got me into punk rock and a lot of the music that i like today. Its hard for me to pick a favourite track but Stay What You Are is my favourite album and i think this is the strongest song on it.
Slipknot - Surfacing
Best live band i’ve ever seen. I Saw them headline in London about 4 years ago and i never thought i would witness a gig as good as that again until i saw them at Download Festival 2 years ago.
Rise Against - Paper Wings
Tim McIlrath is one of my favourite vocalists. He’s cut above the rest and i think he excels in this song. One of their best and another great live band.
Tom Petty - Freefallin’
I grew up listening to my dad play a lot of Tom Petty so i have a lot of good memories of this song. I’m yet to see him live but he’s on my list of artists to see before i die!
The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
Best lyricist ever? In my opinion, Morrissey is most definitely up there. Not many of my friends share my love of The Smiths, i only have my dad to blame for it.
Thrice - See You In The Shallows
Every album is different and has its own identity, thats what i love about Thrice. I forgot sometimes how good their back catalogue is, if i listen to a Thrice song i end up wanting to listen to everything, and thats a lot of hours! This is the first song of theirs i heard so it deserves a mention.
I’ve decided to do a playlist, not neccessarily of bands and songs that i’m listening to a lot of currently, but more of bands and songs that i grew up listening to and are basically my essential tracks. If i could only listen to 10 songs over and over, this would be them. - Dan Brown

Banquets - Just Me And My Canseco Rookie Card
I don’t really know how it came up, but I started talking to the guys from the label Tiny Engines (Bear Trap PR dudes) and they suggested I listen to Banquets. I reluctantly started, and then I was incredibly surprised at how cool they are. This song specifically. They don’t make bands like this anymore.
The Muffs - Funny Face
Nick and I have always been obsessed with the movie Angus and not many people are familiar with its incredible soundtrack. The Muffs have this song in the movie and from that we found the record it was from and listen to it all the time. The singer has the most badass voice of any female vocalist. Wailing gnarly melodies to full on screams backed by some amazing 90s pop punk.
Ryan Adams - Ashes And Fire
I’ve been slowly getting into Ryan Adams over the last year and after seeing a YouTube video of him playing the title track “Ashes And Fire” I bought the album right away. It may have been accidentally on my girlfriend’s account but she hasn’t asked me to pay her back yet. So, thanks Kate!
Samiam - Free Time
I always liked Samiam but never really loved them until this album. It just sounds like everything I love mixed with some cool Foo Fighters and punk melodies that I don’t get to hear too often. Nice easy listening from an awesome band.
Small Brown Bike - Onward And Overboard *Song is currently not on Spotify
“You are the ocean. I am the sea. What drowns in you will float in me.” The second I heard that lyric I was sold on this whole record. Small Brown Bike has been making Michigan proud for years and them reuniting, recording with J. Robbins and having the original lineup made this such a killer album.
A Wilhelm Scream - Die While We’re Young
The guys in AWS took us under their wing years ago. They took Nick on his first tour ever and from that he showed us everything he learned, which is why we’re still on the road 6+ years later. The song is just perfect for anyone in a band or young at heart. Not to mention they’re one of my favorite bands of all time…
Iron Chic - Bustin (Makes Me Feel Good)
We were just in Europe with our buddy Evan (Into It. Over It) and he covered this song a few times. We listened to this album at least once a day for a few weeks and our whole band fell in love with them. I’d love to take Iron Chic on tour if they ever want to tour haha!
Good Riddance - One For The Braves
I grew up listening to these guys all the time and the video for this song is amazing .Floyd from Fat Wreck Chords stars in it and when we played The Fest 2 years ago we actually drove Floyd from the airport to his hotel in Gainesville. It was like a dream for us even though no one else knew who he was.
Empty Orchestra - No Such Place *Song is currently not on Spotify
This is a band comprised of Flint, MI’s all-star music scene. Not many people know they even exist which is a shame. We’ve been looking up to Stephen and crew for years. This song specifically is the best Michigan anthem I’ve heard. They put out a new album for free so google that and download it as soon as you can.
Burning Airlines - Pacific 231
My buddy Trevor from the band The Black Dahlia Murder was huge on helping me find a lot of my favorite records. We used to exchange music and go record shopping and this is one of the gems he showed me. J. Robbins project I was completely unfamiliar with. I don’t understand how you could write music like this and have these kind of vocal melodies on top of it. Thanks J and Trevor, you’re both good. - Jonathan Diener

Incubus - Circles
This song is from the album Morning View and Incubus are a band I have always loved through the years. I chose this song as it has a banging guitar riff that will be stuck in your head for days!
Thrice - Firebreather
Thrice are another one of my favourite bands I think they are a prime example of a band that just gets better and better with age. It’s a real shame that they have sadly come to an end recently but with tunes like this they will never be forgotten.
At The Drive-In - Cosmonaut
With this band about to make a come back if you are not already familiar with them check them out and you will see what all the fuss is about. Fingers crossed the new material will be up to par with the ridiculous album this song is taken from.
Rage Against The Mchine - Freedom
If you are a fan of guitar riffs then pretty much every song ever written by this band is worth checking out!
Jimmy Eat World - 23
This is one of the most epic and beautiful songs ever written. It really is perfection start to finish and if you have never checked out this band WAKE UP, you don’t know what you’re missing out on.
Deaf Havanna - The Past Six Years *Song is currently not on Spotify
A great band from the UK with a real talent that are just waiting to become one of your favourite bands.
John Mayer - Heartbreak Warfare
The perfect pop song, the production, playing and song craft here are utterly amazing.
The Bled - Sound Of Sulfur
Another band that have decided to call it a day. Why do all the good bands stop playing!!!! Mind bending guitar riffs and heavy breakdowns. This band were the best in their class.
Architects - Early Grave *Song is currently not on Spotify
Another UK band that are absolutely amazing. If you like heavy music with a hook that is the real deal then this is for you. No crab rubbish or jogging on the spot here.
Dredg - Pariah
Excellent song writing combined with out of this world effects served with a huge riff. Done deal.
These are a collection of songs that I personally love and I hope you guys do too! I have picked ten songs from when I was growing up through to present day. Thanks and I hope you find your new favourite band somewhere in this list!
