“Please Head North” originally appeared on Transit’s debut summer full-length Keep This To Yourself and absolutely was the start track on the record. Stripped down to its bare acoustics, it sounds just as great, if not better.

Slowing the song down from its original pop-punk speed, Tim Landers and Joe Lacy make the best of their guitar skills to lay the groundwork out for the track. This version skips the loss of the lead guitar to the rhythm of the full-aband and allows the two to blend together perfectly and evoke a more subtle feeling for the listener.

Joe Boynton’s vocals steal the track as they differ greatly from the record and sound more rounded-out and full. Joined with backup vocals from Landers and Lacy throughout the track, Transit proves how effective they can be as all three join in to sing, “I’m always hoping for the best // Preparing for the worst.”

If this is any indication of what the rest of the acoustic tracks on their new EP will sound like, it’s safe to say 2011 will be starting the right way.
