I Call Fives took a break from recording a new split to do a quick holiday song for No Sleep’s annual No Sleep ‘Till Christmas release. “This Xmas” sounds very similar to the tracks off of the band’s Gives Bad Advice acoustic EP, which is certainly not a bad thing.

Starting out with Christmas bells that transition into a piano piece before finally transitioning once more into a beautiful lead guitar part, I Call Fives set themselves up musically for a great single release. Jeff Todd’s vocals are at their best as well as he sings, “This isn’t how I wanted my year to end // Maybe next year we’ll have time to be best friends // The weight of this all is stuck in my head // And I never thought I’d be where I am this Christmas,” and reminisces about just how much can change in one year.

I Call Fives hit the holiday spirit just right with their acoustic talents and Jeff Todd’s perfect pop-punk vocals.
