Every Atlas’s best song might just be last year’s “This Christmas.” Stepping away from the myths and folklore that rules The Ghosts Of Everyone, Alex Periera created a truly saddening Christmas track that is upfront, honest, and storyless, a nice change from the band’s other work.

The multiple acoustic guitar parts weave themselves together to set a solemn mood that lets Periera trap the listener in his vocals as he sings, “This Christmas I’m forgetting all my old friends // And the lovers from the weekends // Cause the summers didn’t last // I had a blast // I hope you know // This Christmas // This Christmas I’m letting you go.”

Another holiday song from Every Atlas is welcome at any time, especially if “This Christmas” is a good example of just what they can do without the fairytales.
