POZ Playlist: Tallhart, Belle Histoire

by Zack Zarrillo - Aug 29, 2012

Tallhart and Belle Histoire are at the tail-end of their summer tour, but we’ve got a brand new PropertyOfZack Playlist for fans of both bands to enjoy. Check out the Playlists and listen to the songs on Spotify while reading everyone’s thoughts!

Kevin Devine – Carnival
 *Song is not on Spotify
It sounds like the love child of The Pixies and Elliott Smith
Queens Of The Stone Age - No One Knows
The pride of American rock and roll as far as recently.
The National - Afraid Of Everyone
So moody and paranoid.
The Wallflowers - God Don’t Make Lonely Girls
Perfect Americans rock song.
Frightened Rabbit - Head Rolls Off
So simple, so amazing.
Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math
Such a passionate song. They are so easy to connect to.
Every Time I Die - We’rewolf
You can’t not freak out when you hear this song.
Peter Gabriel – Sledgehammer *Song is not on Spotify
That flute riff is a heartbreaker.
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
Broken Social Scene - Lover’s Spit
Beautiful song. Beginning to end.
Minus The Bear - Drilling
Such amazing guitar work
Michael Bolton - How Can We Be Lovers If We Can’t Be Friends
The best song ever written.
As Cities Burn - Pirate Blues
The guitar solo at the end of that song is incredible. The drum work is amazing also.

Metallica - …And Justice For All
*Song is not on Spotify
With Metallica obviously being the greatest band of all time, I had to choose at least one song from them. My best friends and I would play this song over and over and over, until we literally couldn’t anymore. Great memories!
Walk The Moon - Tightrope
Straight out of Cincinnati! Walk The Moon will one day be everyone’s favorite band. - Wes Comer, Drums
Willie Nelson - On The Road Again
This song epitomizes the life of a musician on the road. We listen to it almost every time we get in the van together.
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - Big White Gate
This song literally gives me chills every time I listen to it. It offers a very reflective and open look on life, love, and regret and is intuitive to one’s thoughts on death and salvation that everyone can relate to…if they’ve lived life a little.
Looking Glass - Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)
I love songs that tell a story…and the sea! The song tells of Brandy, a bartender in a harbor town, who many sailors believe would make a good wife; she’s a fine girl. But all she longs for is the affections of one sailor, who’s first love — the sea — hinders him from being committed. And so she wears a braided silver chain to remember him, missing him always. Kind of depressing, really, but it’s believed to based on a true story and exponentially increased the popularity of the name in the U.S. between 1972 and 1973. #songnerd - Mitch Winsett, Bass
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run

This is one of my favorites because it’s a song of inspiration, teenage hope-filled love. The kind of love you wanna run away with and not look back. I think we all look for it, and lets be honest; The Boss knows love.
Thrice - Anthology
Became a recent favorite of mine. Mainly because it’s just a powerful song. It’s a song of nostalgia. Just listening, it’s like every memory of friendships and relationships just fly through my head in a motion picture. Such great imagery. Thanks Dustin Kensrue. - Austin Livingood, Guitar
Yellowcard - Always Summer
Just saw this band at Warped Tour. So ridiculous live! I’m so pumped for the record, and it was amazing to see how the show that they put on. Yellowcard will always be my top favorite summer band!
Grouplove - Tongue Tied
This song is so fun, and happy, and reminds me so much of just hangin all day and sleeping in late all summer. Grouplove is was one of those bands that always puts me in an amazing mood, and makes me want to run around with friends!
Let It Happen - Disconnect Routine
They just released the video for this song and it’s a huge pool party with a bunch of parents. It reminds me of what a summer pool party is ACTUALLY like. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these guys and seeing how hard they work as a band. The whole EP is definitely a summer album for me! - Jane Smith, Vocals/Keys
