We Still Dream is a 5-piece pop-punk/rock band from Jacksonville Florida. We bring a fun and high-energy performance to every show we play. With a slightly edgy sound and maintaining catchy melodies and up-beat vocals, this band is a definite for crowds of various genres. We put our hearts into this and work hard for everything that we accomplish and we have no plans of stopping.

How did the band come together? How have you grown since you guys
started?
Mike Davis and past members were in an old hardcore band called Set Apart. They wanted to make a pop-punk side project, met Dustin, and it all took off from there. We started playing shows about a month after Dustin’s first practice in January 2008 and hit the studio to record Oh Snap in May 2008. The past two years have seen a revolving door of member changes after our original drummer and lead guitar player quit. We were able to get our friend Mike Monahan to take up the drums and our old bass player Mike White moved to guitar. Now with  Mike W. and Mike Davis on guitar and our friend Zack T. adding his amazing voice to help with harmonies and bass we have been able to write songs that are better structured and have a lot more vocal work than our previous material.

What do you have to offer that other bands don’t? What sets you apart from alot of the other newer bands out there today?
I think it’s our work ethic. We take what we can get and we don’t bitch about anything. Also a lot of singers in our style of music end up sounding the same, but Dustin’s voice is more soulful because he listens to a lot of acts like Neo, John Legend, and John Mayer. Its kinda different, but it ends up working in a weird way.

How is the live show compared to the general sound of material that’s been
released?
There is a lot of energy in our live set. We like to do lots of posi jumps and drink red bulls in-between songs [Laughs] We are really proud of our live show and we practice around 30 to 40 hours a week to make it sound as close to the CD as possible.

More times than not, influences tend to bleed through. What bands are
currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
We have tons of influences, big and small. Some of the major influences would be The Starting Line, New Found Glory, Sum 41, and of course Blink. We also have some odd influences, we love how bad ass Motley Crue is and Dustin listens to and draws influence from mostly Hip-Hop and rarely listens to other pop-punk bands.

What would you say the band has already accomplished and what do you have
your eyes set on next?
We have toured most of the U.S. and seen the coolest people, places, and fans ever. We recently signed with Eulogy recordings and recorded a full length record (something we never thought we would do). We’re all so grateful for everything we do in this band. Were going to try to hit Europe next, which is a lifetime goal for us all. Also we are going to try and make a semi-gold record [Laughs].

Thus far, what’s a favorite memory or something quirky that’s taken place
with the band (in-studio, onstage, or elsewhere)?
One time on tour we played after a bunch of comedians in some small town in Arkansas. It was really awkward mainly because they were making fun of bands in our genre right before we played. We attempted to make jokes in-between songs followed by long silences from the crowd of about 40 or so older people that obviously weren’t really into pop-punk. It was tight [Laughs]. After the show the comedians ended up being nice so it was all cool.

Is there anything in particular that you’d like people to take away from
listening to your music?
We just want people to be able to relate to our songs. We write our music to be an escape for people and ourselves, as well. In real life there is so much pointless drama, we want our music to be an escape from all that. A chance to break away from the everyday bullshit. Basically we just want everyone to have a good time.
