From Tim Landers:

SOOOOO. I think I left off in El Paso. After El Paso was……

Midland, TX.- This was an off day show with the Ghost Inside and Man Overboard. This was the third or fourth time we’ve played the Pine Box, and was probably the coolest time. I’ll say it- Midland, TX is a fucking weird place. I’ve explored downtown a couple times, and it really really seems like a ghost town. We got there pretty late, had to load in and play pretty much immediately. Our set went well, it was nice to not be on a stage with bright lights and barriers. The kids in Midland rule. Went to Wal Mart after our set, and grabbed some 40s. After the show us, Man Overboard and the Ghost Inside stayed at a motel after the show. We “bonded.” It was fun.

Ft. Worth, TX- Cool night. We got to the show, loaded in, then PJ and I finally got our window fixed after the incident in El Paso. We went to a cool little Taco Place to kill some time while we waited. Good times. We headed back to the show to play the punk of rock. Lola’s Salloon was a cool little place. Our set went well. The people who worked there sucked, specifically the bouncers. They were kicking a bunch of kids out for having a good time. We were not fans of such conduct. Joe B, Nik and I filmed a Piebald cover for our Transit Thursday thing and it was tons of fun. Came out cool, i think. (Side note: I’m sitting here with Lally trying to remember what the fuck we did after this show…hmmm…) We ended up making some friends and staying it Ft. Worth. We watched Ghost Busters and Cady Shack, made some ramen noodles and had a good time.

San Antonio, TX- We woke up early and headed to the show. I was driving, and I got on the road for like 15 minutes and we got a flat tire. Sucked super bad. We waiting for AAA, left the trailer in a random field, and got towed to a tire shop. Our tow truck dude’s name was Jesus. He ruled. Daniel and I got a beer at Chilli’s to pass the time. Once the tire was ready, we picked up the rest of the dudes and got back on the road. We had to speed in order to not miss the show. But we made it! We were so stoked to play the White Rabbit again, it’s one of our favorite venues. We made it there just in time. We loaded in and played the show. It went very well, the San Antonio kids rule. We made some new friends, had a good time, and headed on the long ass drive to New Orleans.

New Orleans, LA- After driving all night, we rolled into New Orleans at about nine AM. We stopped at a gas station, and the first thing I saw when I woke up was a bunch of dudes stealing car speakers from another car and screaching out of the parking lot. The owner of the speakers was dumfounded, and screaming furiously while trying to chase them out of the parking lot. Strange beginning to the day. We decided to get the oil changed to kill some time. The sign said “29 minute oil change,” but for some strange reason that I will never understand, it took two and a half hours. We went to McDonald’s (as always) to kill some time. We got to the show around 3, and loaded in. It was the first time we’d ever played a House of Blues and we were very excited. The venue was super rad, and they made us some wonderful tacos for dinner. Our set was cool. Everybody was definitely in party mode. New Orleans is a strange, strange place. Lacy and I made some friends and left the show a little early to hit up the notorious Burbon St. We made a quick round in and out of the bars, left to try and got check into our hotel room but my phone died on the way, leaving us with no means of getting anywhere. So we ended up going to another club on the other side of the city for some fun. The rest of the dudes were holding it down on Burbon St. After some drinks and interesting times, we got really lost trying to make our way to meet the dudes back at the hotel. After an hour or so, we finally made our way there to get some sleep. Definitely a more successful night then last time we were in NOLA. I mean, PJ didn’t get arrested and we weren’t stuck there for three days or anything. Woke up early and headed to Pensacola.

Pensacola, FL- interesting little college town. The venue, Seville Quarter, was really fucking cool. We arrived to find that “Regge Fest” was going on right next door. I got there, worked on some homework and new songs and stuff. I was feeling a little sick so I decided to lay low for the night. Our set was really cool, the place sounded great. The night was kind of crazy- there was like 5 different shows going on all within about 400 yards of each other. It was really cool. All different types of people and genres of music. Also, a bunch of Catholic protesters set up across the street from our show and spent hours holding signs and yelling at kids across the street, only to be ridiculed by pretty much everyone at the show. We brought out our big “Relax” sign and held it up in retaliation. There were a bunch of obnoxious mosh kids at the show that we’re kind of a bummer, though. There was actually a fight during Man Overboard’s set, that MO actually had to stop playing and take care of themselves. It was quite interesting. We loaded out and got on the road to Gainesville. I drove until I couldn’t keep my eyes open.
