PropertyOfZack recently got a chance to interview The Maine. Check it out and be sure to buy their new album, Black & White, on July 13th! Also, don’t forget about An Evening With The Maine. Enjoy!

For the record, could you state your name and role in The Maine?
Kennedy Brock, Guitar

How was it returning to Bamboozle this year? You covered Everclear on Friday and then rocked your own set the following day.
It was awesome, bamboozle is a lot of fun for us. There are so many of our friends in one place! We have consistently had a great time at bamboozle!

Black & White comes out on July 13th. It’s easily noticeable that the band is straying from the sound of Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. Would you say this album is more a representation of who the band is?
Absolutely, we were still figuring out what we wanted on csws but we had a more clear idea from the start, on this record.

Has there been any concern in how fans will receive the change in sound?
No, we believe that the new direction is not too much of a stretch for our current fans to still enjoy it!

A lyrics video was released for Inside Of You, but should we be on the lookout for any music videos with your actual faces in them in the not too distant future?
It’s still up in the air, at the moment.

How was the studio process this time compared to the recording of Cant Stop, Wont Stop? Would you say you guys felt more comfortable the second time around?
We were definitely more comfortable, prepared, and just as excited!

What has the transition from Fearless to Sire/Warner Brothers been like? Is there any added stress being on a major label or is it one of those perfect fits for you guys?
It’s been great actually, there’s always little problems but nothing to stress about!

The band is doing a pretty different, yet awesome thing this summer in terms of your headline tour with This Century. How did the idea come to life?
Touring is a learning experience and we have learned that a show needs to be more than what it has been! Hopefully, we will learn from this and make our next tours even more fun.

After An Evening With The Maine comes to a close what can we expect for the upcoming fall and winter? Both more touring in the US and overseas?
Most likely both!

There have been some rumors that a b-side album may be released sooner than later. Just how many b-sides do you guys have and when would you like to see it released?
There’s not a b side album coming, but we do have some more songs ideas, so we’ll have new material sooner than later

Thank you so much for your time, is there anything else youd like to add?
Thank you! I’m just excited for the summer tour and the new release!
