From Jake Bundrick:

The past 7 days have been an interesting roller coaster ride. From selling out numerous shows on the west coast to having a dear friend find out terrible news about his health, I learned this past week to never take anything for granted no matter what it is. LIfe can throw you a curveball at any moment and sometimes it can pull the rug right out from under you. This week was definitely more bizarre than any of us could have ever imagined.

The west coast was phenomenal to say the least. We had five sold out shows in a row! If you’re in a band and that happens, you couldn’t be happier. We’re having a blast playing every night, meeting new people and reminiscing with the die hard fans that have been to more than ten Mayday shows. Stuff like that just seems crazy to me. It’s extremely flattering. We’re just happy to still be doing this really and the fact that you guys continue to support our band means the world to all of us…not just myself. Hopefully we’ll be able to do this for a lot longer and keep this train running. Only time will tell though.

From Jake Bundrick:

Warmer weather really does brighten the mood. After being in the cold weather at the beginning of the tour, you come to appreciate warmth. We all say it when we’re freezing, “I wish it was summer,” then summer comes around and we wish it was winter. We’re very proud to say that the tour’s been very successful so far and it’s all because of you guys. Thank God you all managed to beat the snow and still make it to our shows. That just means there is no excuses for those of you “thinking” about coming to the shows in the future. ;)

I was really surprised by our shows in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The weather was perfect which was a good change. Our entire bus was slowly getting over being sick or what I like to call being a zombie. I refer to it as that because it’s kind of the same process. It starts with a cough. Then, you get congested and start spitting up mucus all the time. Your body gets week and then, BAM!!!….you’re a zombie. The only difference is you want medicine and water, not brains. Colds spread extremely fast in a small amount of time because a bus is like an airplane and everyone dreads sitting next to the person who’s coughing, snotting and touching everything you touch. Needless to say, everyone’s bound to get sick so it’s only a matter of time before you slowly become a zombie.

Mayday Parade are currently out on a co-headlining tour with We The Kings, Anarbor, and The Downtown Fiction, and it’s off to a great start. PropertyOfZack is stoked to be doing a brand new Playlist with three of the bands. Check out the Playlists and listen to the songs on Spotify while reading everyone’s thoughts!

(Click on image to listen in Spotify)
Neil Young - Heart of Gold
On long drives through the night, especially the desert, Neil is your best companion. - Cameron Leahy
The Dear Hunter - Filth and Squalor
This song hits hard—big drums, powerful vocals, and even a little dubstep influence. It gets me pumped for any drive. - David Pavluk
Minus The Bear - My Time
OMNI, in its entirety, is an amazing record, but this song in particular is a great representation of who Minus The Bear is as a band. Very soulful, yet modern and catchy. Definitely one of my favorite bands. - Kyle Rodgers
of Montreal - An Eluardian Instance
This song will make you feel like you’re discovering the world all over again. Barnes’ nostalgic lyrics over the joyousness of the groovy, bass-driven arrangement (including an awesome horn section) makes for a truly timeless composition. - Cameron Leahy
Foxy Shazam - I Like It
This song lies somewhere between ridiculous and awesome. You’ll be  singing it in your head as soon as it’s done. - David Pavluk
Death Cab For Cutie - Information Travels Faster
This song is perfect for late night drives, which we do often. The soothing vocals create a relaxing mood while the catchy, up-beat guitar riffs keep you awake and alert. - Wes Dimond
Nirvana - School
I love the humor in Nirvana’s lyrics. There’s something so pure about the way Cobain delivers those lyrics, No recess!!! - Cameron Leahy
of Montreal - Suffer For Fashion
of Montreal is another one of my favorite bands, not just for the fact that Kevin Barnes is a musical genius, but because it’s feel good music. Any band that can change my mood within the first few notes of the song are an amazing band to me. Suffer is one of those songs. It’s not even a happy song per say, but it makes me feel good. - Kyle Rodgers
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
I heard of Gotye only a few months ago and have grown to love this song. I hear a strong Sting influence, in the best way. Great vocal harmonies on this one. - Cameron Leahy
The Strokes - Undercover of Darkness
This a great song to rock to while jamming the air-guitar and singing along.

(Click on image to listen in Spotify)
I Got - Young The Giant
A very relatable song, it reminds me of the beach and summer time.
Manchester Orchestra - Virgin
This is a great song, it brings me back to old brand new days.
Jack’s Mannequin - Release Me
The lyrics to this song can relate to me in so many ways, it’s a great tune and it’s part of a great record.
Foo Fighters - Walk
I chose the song because it’s an awesome rock song, I love Dave Grohl, and I look up to him.
Jessie J - Domino
I’ve been obsessed with this song for awhile now. I think she has a great voice and I love great singers. I saw her on sine award show with a broken leg or something and I respected the fact that she could still hit all her notes while sitting down. Unbelievable.
Black Keys  - Tighten Up
Another great rock NAND that I’ve been jamming lately. The song is a little dated now but I love their guitar licks and original sound. It reminds me of classic rock.
Rx Bandits - Overcome
This song puts me in a great mood every time I hear it, the lyrics are powerful and speak about the world we live in today.
Jimmy Eat World - Sweetness
Our entire band loves Jimmy and they are from our same home town, Tempe Arizona, their rehearsal spot is down the street from our houses.
Tom Petty - I Won’t Backdown
This is one of my all time favorite songs. Great vibe and talks about not giving up.
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
Just recently found this artist and song And fell in love. The chorus melody is phenomenal and I haven’t stopped playing it! Super relaxing and very emotionally charged song. - Mike Kitlas

(Click on image to listen in Spotify)
WHY? - By Torpedo or Crohn’s
Nas - Halftime
Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil
John Martyn - Over the Hill
Paul Simon - Me and Julio down by the schoolyard.
Leon Russell - Tight Rope
Inkwell - I am the tightrope *Song is currently not on Spotify
The Anniversary - Sweet Marie *Song is currently not on Spotify
Millencolin - The Ballad

Here are a few songs I have been listening to lately. I dont want to go into detail about each one, because I think the songs should speak for themselves. Give them a listen and hopefully you feel something. - Jeremy Lenzo

From Jake Bundrick:

The worst feeling in the world is wanting to be somewhere else other than where you are. It doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does, it really brings you down. I found out today that my dog Riley has a giant tumor in his abdomen. It’s so big that doing surgery is a risk because he could die on the table. He’s been my dog for 10 or 11 years now.

I remember when we got him. He was a little puppy with legs longer than his entire body. He had so much energy, but no clue how his legs worked yet. He would trip over himself and jump off of everything too high for him. He was too young to really understand that jumping from high places was a bad idea. Riley grew up with me through high school and the little bit of college I went through. He was an inside dog until my parents built a house in the country on a huge two acre lot. They built a fence around the lot giving Riley a ginormous play pen. His favorite thing to do was chase squirrels that would venture into his play area. That was a big NO NO. He’d never catch them but boy did he try. Another thing he always did was catch lizards and frogs. He loved it. He would just trap them with his front paws and lick them. He never hurt them really. He just wanted a friend.

Mayday Parade are currently out on The End Of The World Tour with We The Kings, Anarbor, and The Downtown Fiction. The band will be sending over a Road Blog to PropertyOfZack once a week to keep fans updated on the tour, so check out the first one and make sure to come back for more!

From Jake Bundrick:

Day one of The End Of The World Tour was a success. It was a sell out show in Louisville, Kentucky but the show itself wasn’t a breeze like you would think. Every fan should know that the first show of any tour is always the roughest. It’s the one where you work out all the kinks and expect the worst to happen onstage while you’re performing. A lot of technical stuff happened to us last night but nothing terrible, like the power surging/shutting us down. In the end, the show was a blast and it only portrays what’s to come for the next month on this tour. Tour life is crazy! There’s always a lot of time to sit around. I try my best to fill that time with something productive whether it be working out or running, talking with my partner about our company 5683 Collective, or playing videos games :)

You’ve gotta past the time somehow. I made this goal to be in the best shape of my life by the time Warped Tour comes around so I can be that dude that’s not afraid to take my shirt off. haha. I’ve been working out, running, and dieting for a long time now so meeting that goal would be unbelievable for me - mostly because I’ve been doing it for so long now. I’m going on year 5. At the beginning of the band, I got up to 235 pounds. For me, that’s too big for my liking. I haven’t weighed myself for a while now, but I’m pretty confident I’m below 185. I’ve grown to love working out. Sometimes you don’t want to do it but it’s the feeling you get after you’ve completely that daily routine. I’ve learned that you can do anything but it’s your mind that tries to tell you otherwise. You’d be surprised what you can do if you convince yourself to go a little bit further when your mind and body are telling you to stop.

The clothing company I started this past December is slowly but surely growing. We started with a necklace and now we have a bracelet. I know that doesn’t sound like much, but we’re slowly adding more and more stuff to our catalogue. We have hopes of adding a few pieces of clothing very soon. We’re just trying to figure out all the logistics. You can browse and find everything we have on our website. Check it out: www.5683collective.com
