From Ryan Rockwell:

July 6th was in Tucson, Arizona. Everyone told us that it would be the most brutally hot show, but I guess we arrived at the right time because it was less hot than Texas. We got there early so we went and checked out the downtown area of Tucson and found a place called hippie gypsy, that’s all that needs to be said about that store. Well also they had incense burning outside of it and huge peace signs, and paintings of all the greats from Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. Why is it that Kurt Cobain is always sold or marketed at hippie stores? Dude owned a gun that’s not very hippie. Then we found some dinner and headed back to the show. The show went great, and for our first time being in Arizona the fact that people there knew our songs was mind blowing and awesome, it was nice to get to hang out with them for awhile. The venue, Skrappys, is a legit place and everyone there treated us really nice, what more can you ask for?

July 7th was in San Diego, California. This was an important day because we got to meet Matt that runs animal style records the first time, and he’s the guy that has put out our last two releases, and has also become one of my best friends. We woke up early and drove to meet Matt at his favorite burger place by the beach called Hodads. We got our food and actually ate it on the beach and i was awesome. The food was also amazing, that is a recommended place for sure. After that we swam in the ocean for a little while and then got all sandy, and saucy. That day us and Seahaven were set to do an acoustic session for the website alter the press so we met up to do that and had fun with it. I think Seahaven did a Neutral Milk Hotel cover and we did rivethead, plus some originals and it was fun.  This show was one of the hottest shows I have ever played but was a blast! We have been playing a new song that will be on our actual full length we are recording this winter called “even on the worst nights” and it’s been a fun addition, plus we got asked to do an encore,so all in all great and so hot I almost passed out night. I also succesfully at this show showed Seahaven my private parts in the middle of our song while also making sure the crowd didn’t see, not alot of bands are doing that, mixtapes, we care.

Mixtapes are currently out on a west coast tour with Seahaven and Ryan Rockwell from the band will be doing a brand new Road Blog for PropertyOfZack to keep us in touch with the band while they’re out on the road. Enjoy and check in every few days for updates!

From Ryan Rockwell:

This tour technically started July 1st, but we met up with Seahaven on July 4th so I will start there. Except I would like to mention on July 2nd we went to a casino with some boys from Red City Radio and Oklahoma City’s casinos suck. I’d also like to add that on the 3rd we played in Ft. Worth Texas at 1919 Hemphill and that venue is great as is everyone who volunteers there, they treated us great. On July 4th we met up with Seahaven in Midland, Texas at a barbecue. At this barbecue the first thing we saw was that someone had cut open a watermelon and were letting the watermelon soak up an entire bottle of everclear. Now I don’t even drink but I know that everclear is some strong alcohol, so I figured this would make for something funny. They also had a bottle of strawberry moonshine, and some certain members of Seahaven ate some of the strawberries that had been fermenting in this moonshine for a good 2 months. Needless to say they were passed out before we even left for the show. The show in Midland was really great, everyone that promoted it and came to the show were extremely friendly, and it was a great start to tour! I recommend playing at the pinebox and letting those guys do your show, they were perfect.
