So I’m finally home laying in my own bed watching netflix and writing this before I go to bed and then it’s back to work for me. I’m bummed that tour is over, I had such a blast. I feel like tour went by way too quick. But anyways, let me fill you in on everything that happened since my last update.
 
Day 13- Tallahassee, FL 
Okay so Tallahassee is where Adam and I live, and where Kids Like Us was originally based out of. So I really had high hopes for this show. We got to the venue and I was greeted by lots and lots of firmiliar faces which was awesome. We hit a local Chinese buffet before we played called Bamboo House which is a favorite of all of ours. Danielson put down six plates of food taking him to a legendary status haha. So we went back to the show and right before we played I got super anxious for some reason. I had never played with either band in my home town and I have to say that I was a bit nervous. Without a doubt though the show was a huge success. A lot of kids all going crazy during each band’s set. This show was probably my favorite of the entire tour, my hometown held it down! After the show we hit Greg’s favorite food spot called Guthrie’s. If you are ever in Tallahassee I would definitely suggest checking out it and Bamboo House for some awesome food! The dudes crashed with Lars at his mom’s house and me and the Greenery went back to my house where I got to sleep in my own bed and hang out with my dog for the first time in two weeks. I don’t think I’ve ever slept better in my entire life. The next day everyone went to Wakulla Springs for some swimming and Alligator spotting while I stayed home and did laundry and other stuff. They scooped me up around 1:00 PM and we were on our way to Tampa.

So we are in atlanta right now hanging out with our dude Ghetto Josh, leaving for my hometown of Tallahassee in a couple of hours so what better time to catch up on how this tour has been going since my last post.

Okay so the detroit show was awesome. Free bowling and pizza for everyone, a great turnout and a great response for all of the bands. Couldn’t have asked for more! So after the show we loaded up into the van and prepared for an overnight drive to Nashville, TN. 

Day 07- Nashville, TN
So after the 9 or 10 hour drive we finally arrived in Nashville and crashed at a motel 6. It just so happened that we also picked a Motel 6 without a single working air conditioner in the entire building. That’s right every single one was out, so we sweated our asses off for a couple of hours and then hit the movie theaters again to see the Green Lantern. We were all running on hardly any sleep from that drive so almost everyone fell asleep during the movie. I stayed awake though and I have to say that the movie was alright at best. After the movie we went back to the motel to sleep for a couple more hours and then hit the show. We showed up and everyone was dressed appropriately for a beach themed show. It was a floor show so kids were “stage diving” off of couches, it was wild. We found a bunch of party poppers and confetti and had a lot of fun with that while the Greenery was playing. All of the bands had got an awesome reaction from everyone there. This show will definitely take the cake for the hottest show of the entire tour. There was literally puddles of sweat all over the place that had to be mopped up in between bands. After the show we hit the motel, took a quick dip in the pool and got some much needed sleep. 

Day 08- Whitesburg, KY
We woke up the next morning, grabbed lunch super quick and hit the road Kentucky bound. The town of Whitesburg is literally up a mountain, such a crazy drive. We got to the show and it was in an old post office so the building was so awesome looking. All the old mail slots were still there and everything. We ended up climbing onto the roof and and having a shirtless roof party for no reason. After that Fresh Adam and I found some weird cafe and ate some food that was super good and cheap. We got back to the show and found this door that led downstairs and found an art exhibit with some crazy stuff. It was super creepy because all the lights were off and we kept scaring each other. So as soon as the mongoloids set starts out of nowhere balloons and toilet paper just start flying everywhere, a few even filled with water. Absolutely crazy show. My friend Alex aka Moshed Brotatoes from West Virginia came out to hang out with us. Great to see him, you guys might know him he’s tumblr famous or something like that. After the show we had a dance party to celebrate Adam turning 20 at midnight. He even got a kiss on the cheek from a girl. We hit a local Wendy’s to grab a super late dinner to tide us over until we got to Richmond, VA

The Mongoloids are currently out on tour with Kids Like Us and The Greenery, and Kane Gordon from the band was kind enough to do a Road Blog for PropertyOfZack to document the band’s journey. Kane put a ton of effort into the first update, so enjoy!

So we’ve been on tour for almost a week now and things have been a blast for sure. This tour consists of eight of us (Adam, Bob, Danielson, Fresh, Greg, Kane, Lars, and our road dog Russo.) all crammed into one van for the next fifteen days. Currently we are in Detroit playing at the Magic Stick tonight and everyone is mad at me for accidentally setting us up to stay at what was deemed by Fresh “The Cat Piss Dungeon.” Anyways enough about that, here’s a recap of what’s happened so far on this tour.
 
Day 01- Vineland, NJ
So we all woke up at Russo’s Saturday morning and Bob, Adam, Danielson and I headed to our practice spot while Greg went to get Fresh from the airport and Lars and Russo went to visit their long time friend Rottmann. Needless to say while waiting on Greg and Fresh to return Adam, Bob and I didn’t get hardly anything accomplished and Danielson slept the whole time. Once Fresh and Greg made it we banged out the Mongoloids set a few times, and then rolled out. Danielson slept the entire time surprisingly enough. We scooped Lars and Russo from his house and then were on our way to our first show of the tour. We stopped to eat at Five Guys burgers where I was assaulted with pickles in a group effort to try and make me eat my least favorite food on the planet. I’ll go on record and say that pickles are disgusting, OG sewer mutant food that isn’t fit for human consumption. Stop eating pickles, you freaks. Back on the road, Getting to the show was almost impossible because down the street from the venue there was a classic car show going on and they had the street blocked off that we needed to turn onto to get to our destination. Needless to say Gloidiak G himself (Greg) did a few moves similar to those of a pro Nascar driver and we made it to the venue where we pulled up next to the Greenery and the party began. The first show was cool. Decent turnout, the venue was alien themed which I thought was pretty cool. There were a couple of local openers, (I can’t remember their band names to save my life right now.) The Greenery played first on this tour package. It was my first time seeing the Greenery play and they put on an awesome show. If you haven’t checked them out do yourself a favor and go here and check out their music and tour dates. Super tight music and awesome dudes to be on tour with. Next was the Mongoloids. It was a fun set and I felt we got a pretty good reaction. Overall I was pretty satisfied. Next was Kids Like Us. I was a little nervous because it was my first show playing guitar with them. Nevertheless I felt it went well, good reaction, set sounded tight. Overall I’d say it was a pretty good show. Afterwords the venue gave us all free slushies and Monster energy drinks. After the show we went back to Russo’s again to rest up before we headed to Holyoke for our next show. Apparently I was doing and saying all kinds of weird shit in my sleep, not surprised by that at all…
