Hey guys, it’s Wes reporting to you from my own amazingly comfortable bed in Fairfax, Virginia. The tour has been over for a little under a week and I’m already experiencing withdrawals. The Rock Show At The End Of The World tour was one for the books no doubt. With an almost sold out tour and good vibes all around, this is a trip I will never forget. We’ve had the pleasure of touring with The Summer Set multiple times throughout the years, so we’ve become so close to them. Hit The Lights shared a dressing room with us just about every day, so we were able to really get to know the guys very well by the end of the tour, which we learned quickly that they were crazy (in the best way possible) individuals. Oh, and can’t forget All Time Low of course! That band and crew is like a well oiled machine. They are extremely caring and fun people to be around. We couldn’t be more thankful to have been a part of their tour.

Hey everyone, David here with our weekly tour blog from the Rockshow at the End of the World tour.

As the tour draws to an end, we’re all a little tired from the late/ early drives we’ve had to do, but we’re also motivated to finish these shows with a bang.   We are now back on the east coast, and that means we get to see some old friends that we haven’t seen in a very long time. Prior to this tour, the band had been writing and rehearsing in Los Angeles for about 6 months.  Needless to say, we’ve been far from our hometown of Fairfax, VA for quite a while.  

Fans often tell me they have seen us at multiple TDF shows: some have been to 3 or 4, others 30-40! That means we see some of these fans more than our own friends and family! That’s why our fans are like a second family to us.  It’s a crazy life, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

We played the Norva last night in Norfolk, VA and we were able to share their incredible dressing rooms with some of our hometown buds. Ping pong, TV, basketball court, beer and snacks galore!  It was so nice just catching up and letting them get a little taste of our everyday lives.

Hello readers,

It’s Cameron Leahy of The Downtown Fiction writing you from San Francisco. We played the renowned Fillmore tonight, which is a really beautiful room adorned with elegant chandeliers, red draperies and a large balcony. I really love this venue and San Fran for its musical history which is evident in the hundreds of posters on the wall commemorating the many greats who’ve played here in the past. Today like most days on tour I take my longboard and explore the surrounding area, usually stopping at a Starbucks if I can find one. Often we’ll ride together as a band, offering ourselves up to the heckling of crazies and weirdos on the street.

“God gave you feet, whaddu need wheels for!?” yelled a haggard, old, fisherman-looking character near the water at Pike’s Place in Seattle. 

“To push!” Wes retorted. 

We don’t care, we relish it. It’s a break from the monotony backstage, which usually consists of a cramped room filled with tired, half-lidded eyes focused on cell phones or dogeared books. Antsy. Hours upon hours of waiting for what boils down to a single blurred frame. That moment when you step on stage and do the one thing you’ve come there to do, to play. And when it’s over you awake again to find the wait was well worth it, another day won with the final beat of your set. Then you muster up every ounce of energy you possess and strive to do better tomorrow.

What’s something funny that’s happened on this tour thus far?” I asked our tour manager Justin as we hung out in our hotel room in Farmington Hills, Michigan. “You mean, besides everything we do each day?” Justin replied. This is where it hit me that in fact, there is never a dull moment when we travel on tour. Whether it’s a ridiculous chant, or making parodies for the songs that are played on the stereo, we know how to keep ourselves occupied.

One story that comes to mind happened yesterday at our show in Detroit, Michigan. We decided to bring our tour pet Harold out with us again for her second tour. The thing is however, Harold isn’t your typical pet. Harold is our tour tarantula, or as we like to call it, “Tourantula”. Well, I didn’t want to leave Harold out in the cold, so I grabbed her from the van and started to take her inside before doors opened. As I walked up the stairs to enter the venue, I heard “you are NOT bringing that inside the venue!” It was Matt who tour manages the headlining band All Time Low. In the midst of a panic attack, he says “if you bring that inside, I will kick your band off of the tour!”

Hey guys, this is Wes reporting to you from the basement of the Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico! I just walked off stage, and I’m still drenched in sweat after having a killer show. The End of the World tour has been nothing less than crazy, with wild shows packed full of pure rock ‘n roll goodness every single night. One performance to note was yesterday at Jake’s in Lubbock, Texas. Since we hadn’t been to this city before, I didn’t know what to expect. Three songs into the set, the crowd went nuts, having people run up on stage and dive into the sea of screaming fans. To put this plain and simple, the crowds have been kick ass, and we thank you.

My favorite part of this tour thus far is the bonding between all of the bands. There’s been nothing but good vibes all around, and a lot of funny jokes/pranks have arisen from all of the bands’ humor meshing. For example there was a bright orange parking cone which we found on top of our trailer that made its way on stage multiple times. We couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of this tour and look forward to the rest of the adventure.

We fiction freaks are trekking to your town once again. It’s day #6 of the End of the World tour and we’re headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s about 10 AM and everyone is either sleeping or listening to music on the drive. It’s the norm on tour—trying to figure out how to occupy your time before the show. Usually it resorts to everyone going slightly insane and yelling/chanting about whatever they see. We are a simple folk.

Tour has been nothing but good vibes. Every night we’ve had the honor of performing and hanging out with the good people in Anarbor, We the Kings and Mayday Parade. It’s a great lineup and the shows have been crazy fun.
