From Mitchell Lee:
Our tour with O’Brother, La Dispute, Thrice, and the dudes from Invisible Children is over. Without getting overly sappy or cheesy, I’ll just say that this tour has been one of the greatest experiences we’ve ever had as a band. We’ve had a ton of fun just hanging out and playing music but we also got pretty deep at times talking about music, touring, life, families, relationships, happiness, careers, and faith. Traveling the country with these guys has been an inspiration.
Here are some tour highlights:
-Dojo Gelato in Cincinnati makes some scrumptious Sriracha/peanut butter gelato. This flavor was custom made for O’Brother and given to the whole tour.
-We finally got to see Wrigley Stadium in Chicago and play the Metro.
-Sauget, IL must be the strip club capital of the world. There were 3 clubs and an OTB within walking distance of the venue.
-Everybody on the tour dressed up in costume for Halloween in Denver.
-The Invisible Children dudes were a Juggalo and some sort of weird Fu Manchu coconut bra wearing thing.
-Greg, Josh, and I were demons while Nick was a Werewolf.
-O’Brother were Prisoners.
-La Dispute were Cops (Vass wore a woman’s adult “naughty officer” costume complete with miniskirt while Jordan wore a little boy’s police costume that was skin tight and much too short).
-La Dispute’s tour and merch managers, Dave and Lazur, were Gumby and Pokey, respectively.
-Thrice were Party Animals. Think Beastie Boys’ “Fight for Your Right” music video with everybody wearing various animal masks (lion, zebra, chicken, sheep, etc.).

Thrice released Major/Minor in September via Vagrant Records. Polar At Noon have now released an official remix of “Words In The Water” off of Major/Minor. Stream the remix below by clicking “Read More”.

From Adam Vass:
The sad simple truth is that this tour is ending. As I write this, we have 5 days left before we say our goodbyes, but I’m not ready for that, and I’ve run out of op-eds to fill this column with, so my entry this week is about food.
I am not a foodie, I kind of hate the idea of foodies, but I (like most people) love food. It is one thing that on tour, I allow myself to spend foolish amounts of money on. There are definitely those days where all I get is a cliff bar and a coffee, but I make up for it on other days where I can splurge at my favorite restaurants that I’ll only visit once or twice a year.
This tour has been exceptionally good in terms of the food I’ve eaten. I have been vegan for about a year and a half now, and the longer that goes on, the better I get at knowing the best places to go and what to order. So, here is my list of awesome places I went on this tour and what I ate. This isn’t comprehensive, just what I remember and what I managed to take pictures of before inhaling it.
The first noteworthy meal I had was in Dallas TX. We were playing one block away from this bar called Anvil. Somehow, without researching, we were lucky enough to show up during a happy hour where the food was half off. To celebrate, I got two meals at once. I got a huge plate of nachos, complete with chili, fake cheese, and guacamole, and i got a chicken quesadilla, also fake but so delicious. I ate until it hurt, and I ate a little bit more, and stumbled back to the venue, where the kind folks starting Big A Little A bakery graced us with their specialty, vegan bacon chocolate chip cookies. It was a perfect blend of salty and sweet, and even though I got some chocolate stains on my white shirt, I was ecstatic. And full.
