Transit are out on The GK Tour and the band has been kind enough to send a Road Blog into PropertyOfZack for fans to keep track of the band on tour. Check it out below!

From Daniel Tisnart + Tim Landers:

Hey friends, this is Daniel from Transit. As of right now I’m sitting in the van on the side of the highway in Tucson, AZ. We just started  our twenty hour ride to Dallas, and we’re all a little bummed, but Lally’s here, so it’s cool.

Tour has been awesome. It’s been one of the best tours that we’ve ever done as a band, and we’d like to thank Glamour Kills for all the support. I’m pretty sure all but six shows have sold out, and that’s always a good thing. Kids have been coming out and showing support for all of the bands on the tour, and that’s really all we can ask for.

As for the bands on the tour, it’s been great. Every band on the tour are all great friends, and most of us have toured with each other before, so we all hit the ground running on the first day of tour. We’ve all been hanging out, laughing, and just enjoying each day. Spreading the Slug.

Hi this is Tim from Transit. I feel everything that Daniel said above. The 2012 GK tour has been one of the greater tours that we’ve ever been apart of. Every band is so talented and is putting on such a rad show every night. It’s crazy because, at least in my opinion, all of the bands are so different. Everyone who has been a part of this tour- Into It. Over It., the Story So Far, A Loss For Words, Transit, Polar Bear Club, and the Wonder Years are all very different bands. Yet, kids come out to support and sing along to each act every night. It’s too cool.

From Tim Landers:

Yo. road blog round three. it’s been a while. I’m currently sitting in Pittsburgh, PA waiting for our show to start. It’s the second to last day of tour, and we’re about 10ish hours from home. Everybody is anxious to get back to MA. Tired, broke, and ready to get some sleep. Tonight should be cool, though.

Gainesville, FL- We arrived in Gainesville, and our wonderful friend Susannah from Paper and Plastic records let us crash at her place. We hung out with her sweet dog, Louis, for a bit and got some sleep. We woke up, got some coffee and checked out P&P headquarters. That label rules- so many good bands. It was our first time back in Gainesville since the Fest, and it was definitely a nostalgic trip. We played at a venue called Common Grounds. I saw Algernon Cadwallader play there at the Fest, so I was stoked to be back. The show was really cool. The sound was great. We had some drinks and had a wonderful time. I couldn’t stop laughing at the shenanigans Lally, Nik, and I were causing at the merch table. We headed back to Susannah’s for some hangs after the show. We ate some pizza, and watched some rad Adam Sandler movies.

From Tim Landers:

SOOOOO. I think I left off in El Paso. After El Paso was……

Midland, TX.- This was an off day show with the Ghost Inside and Man Overboard. This was the third or fourth time we’ve played the Pine Box, and was probably the coolest time. I’ll say it- Midland, TX is a fucking weird place. I’ve explored downtown a couple times, and it really really seems like a ghost town. We got there pretty late, had to load in and play pretty much immediately. Our set went well, it was nice to not be on a stage with bright lights and barriers. The kids in Midland rule. Went to Wal Mart after our set, and grabbed some 40s. After the show us, Man Overboard and the Ghost Inside stayed at a motel after the show. We “bonded.” It was fun.

Ft. Worth, TX- Cool night. We got to the show, loaded in, then PJ and I finally got our window fixed after the incident in El Paso. We went to a cool little Taco Place to kill some time while we waited. Good times. We headed back to the show to play the punk of rock. Lola’s Salloon was a cool little place. Our set went well. The people who worked there sucked, specifically the bouncers. They were kicking a bunch of kids out for having a good time. We were not fans of such conduct. Joe B, Nik and I filmed a Piebald cover for our Transit Thursday thing and it was tons of fun. Came out cool, i think. (Side note: I’m sitting here with Lally trying to remember what the fuck we did after this show…hmmm…) We ended up making some friends and staying it Ft. Worth. We watched Ghost Busters and Cady Shack, made some ramen noodles and had a good time.

San Antonio, TX- We woke up early and headed to the show. I was driving, and I got on the road for like 15 minutes and we got a flat tire. Sucked super bad. We waiting for AAA, left the trailer in a random field, and got towed to a tire shop. Our tow truck dude’s name was Jesus. He ruled. Daniel and I got a beer at Chilli’s to pass the time. Once the tire was ready, we picked up the rest of the dudes and got back on the road. We had to speed in order to not miss the show. But we made it! We were so stoked to play the White Rabbit again, it’s one of our favorite venues. We made it there just in time. We loaded in and played the show. It went very well, the San Antonio kids rule. We made some new friends, had a good time, and headed on the long ass drive to New Orleans

From Tim Landers:

Where did I leave off? Time to piece it back together. It’s been an interesting string of shows. I’m having a damn good time, if I do say so myself. At the moment, I’m sitting in a venue called Club 101 in El Paso, TX. Senses Fail is currently killing it and I’m freaking out trying to find the new Death Cab single. Oh wait…it rules….obviously. I’ll see what I can remember from the past week or so. So, here we go.

Colorado Springs, CO @ the Black Sheep. This was my 21st birthday so have every reason in the world to not remember a second from this night. But, oddly enough, I remember it pretty vividly. The show was cool. Checked out a really strange pawn shop across the street that sold guns. Got really drunk due to high altitudes and Kaelin buying me drinks. We taught the bartender down the street how to make an Irish Car Bomb. Our set went pretty well. My best friend, Ryan, flew out from Boston to come surprise me on my birthday and roll with us for the next week or so on tour. I’d never been so surprised in my life. Needless to say, I was stoked. We drank more. These is where things get a little fuzzy, but I definitely remember somehow ending up in the basement of the venue with a bartender and bouncer and listening to them freestyle. We drove up to the mountains to crash with Peej’s cousin at this awesome little resort.

Our good friends in Transit are always willing to help us out over here at PropertyOfZack and we’re thrilled to welcome Tim Landers back for a second round of our Road Blog feature. Tim will be doing one update per week as the band travels across america on the PMA Tour with Senses Fail, The Ghost Inside, and Man Overboard. Check out the first update below!

From Tim Landers:

My name is Tim and I play guitar and sing in Transit. Zack asked me to do a little road blog jawn for him, so I’m going to try and pay attention and recollect everything that goes. Here’s our first update from the PMA tour.

First things first: the PMA tour is Transit, Man Overboard, the Ghost Inside, and Senses Fail. We will be embarking on a tour of the United States of America. Currently, I’m sitting in our van outside of the Burbon theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska. It’s a beautiful day outside. I just went skateboarding and saw a really cool statue of Abe Lincoln. He’s the man. This, I think, is our eighth….yeah eight…day of tour. It’s been great so far, minus some shit weather. I think this is only the second day the suns been out. This tour has been somewhat of a different world for us. Senses Fail not only brings a larger crowd than we’re used to playing to, but a very different one at that. These kids are different from the usual breed of person we meet that is into Transit. I’m into it, though. We’re just ecstatic to play to new faces and try to turn some heads. It’s obviously wonderful to be on tour with our brothers in Man Overboard, plus everyone in the other two bands have turned out to be great humans. So I’m going to attempt a brief recap. It’s going to be more of a bunch of random thoughts thrown together rather than something elaborate explanation- I feel like it will be more interesting this way. I’m probably not even going to proof read it. I’ll probably say some stupid stuff. Yeah, I definitely will. Let’s see how much I can remember. Scranton, PA- great first show. Strange venue, but a good time regardless. Got to see some wonderful friends from Tigers Jaw and Title Fight. Despite some technical difficulties, a good set. Ate some waffle house. Thoroughly enjoyed said Waffle House. Stayed with Title Fightians and watched CNN for hours with recap from the terrible earthquakes.

From Tim Landers:

Alright, it’s been quite a few days. I’ve been slacking hard. I’m gonna try and catch up now. Let’s see how good my memory is.

So, after the Fullerton show, we crashed with our boys in the Millers and got some sleep for our Canoga Park show the next day. We woke up, took some well needed showers, took a trip to Wendy’s, and headed towards the city at a pretty reasonable hour. We knew LA traffic was going to suck- because it just does. This was our second time playing at a place called the Colbalt Cafe. It was just as fun as the first. Really cool venue, good people. Right out side the sweetest city ever too (LA). The show was a blast, we grabbed some Del Taco after and headed back to the millers for some sleep. We woke up in the morning and headed to Fresno, for some sort of fest show that we were playing. It was good to see and play with our friends in Second to Last, great dudes and a great band. We also had the pleasure of playing the next couple shows with a great band called Reignition, too. Great bands, great dudes. The show was cool, we had some fun. PJ pulled off the most intense trailer backing in maneuver I have ever seen. It was quite fucking impressive. So we left the show and headed to our home a way from home on the west coast- Walnut Creek. We met up with our boys in the Story So Far and This Time Next Year. I spent a majority of this weekend doing some demos for the other music I play, a project called Misser. So I was kind of in my own little world and didn’t see all that much of my band. I missed them, straight up. I’ll say it.

So on Saturday night we played in San Francisco at a place called the Submission Artspace. I must say, that place is a really weird venue. The people who run it are just so so strange. But regardless, the show was awesome. Way cooler than we could have ever imagined. Probably my favorite set we played all tour. Lots of fun, lots of friends, lots of getting wild. We headed back to Walnut Creek after the show to party and get some sleep. Next day we headed to Concord for a house party show, which turned out to be a house party shitshow. It was a blast. Our friends in This Time Next Year played a surprise three song set, so as always it was rad to hang and see them. Lally got so drunk that he passed in Second to Last’s van out before the second half of the show started. Our set was fun, we met some fun people, and had a good time. Headed back to Walnut creek for one last stay. I was in the studio in Livermore, CA the following morning finishing some stuff up so the guys came through and picked me up on our way out. We grabbed some fantastic burritos while our oil got changed with a wonderful man named David from a radical band called All Teeth- check em out. So we picked the van up and embarked on the worst journey EVER. 20 hours from California to Denver. Shit was crazy. It was okay for like the first six hours, and then shit got insane. The scariest, iciest, snowiest drive ever. Unfortunately, at some point in the afternoon extremely intelligent individual decided to bring their mini van to a complete halt in the middle of the black ice covered road. So we all woke up to JoeB repeatedly screaming “No…No…No…NO!” And then we hit said mini van. And then we had to sit there for hours because she decided to call the cops to file a accident report. And then we got a 220 dollar ticket for “Reckless Driving”….What the fuck? So after all the bullshit, we finally made it to Denver literally right as we had to play. The set was fun, we hung with some ladies after the show and got a very little amount of sleep, then woke early as fuck to head to Kansas City. A nice 10 hour drive. That was fun. The Kansas City show was really awesome because our tour met up with a Cruel Hand/Backtrack tour. It was fucking rad to get to see those bands. Both of em rule. Definitely a blast. We had some Transit/Aficionado bonding at the house we both ended up staying at and partied hard enough to make our head hurt in the morning. Off to Iowa. Iowa was fun. Played a VFW hall, had a fun set, made some new friends. Can’t really ask for more. After that we headed for yet another 10 hour drive to the wonderful city of Cincinati, Ohio. We got to our good friend Michael Glockner’s pad at around 4 and started the party off. The Cinci show was fucking awesome- we played in a wrestling arena. Highlight of the night- Jim Peebles of Aficionado stage dove wearing the camp belt shirtless during our set. I could not stop laughing. After the show, we headed 15 minutes away to play our first acoustic set ever at a suicide awareness event set up by some friends of ours. We played very very late, and only got to play 3 songs before the bar cut us off. So what did we do? We took it to the parking lot and played some more. It was definitely the coolest thing that has ever happened to us. Thanks to everyone who supported and sang along. We headed out to a house after party, then headed back to Glockner’s to crash. Currently, i’m sitting at the University of Kent in Kent, OH waiting for our last show with Aficionado and Hostage Calm to start. I am very sad. These are the best people and I’m going to miss them. But now I must go tell them that. More soon.

From Tim Landers:

So it’s been a few days. Sup. I’ve been strangely busy, pretty sick, and without internet connection for the past few days so I’ve been slacking on my updating (sorry Zack). But now I’ve got a few minutes and some wi-fi so I’ll catch up. I’m going to try to remember all the juicy details.

Conway, AR. Very cool show. It was our first time in playing Arkansas. The only other time I remember being in Arkansas it turned out to be the scariest night of my life. We were on tour with Make Do and Mend in the dead of winter and had to drive overnight through a terrible storm. It was so icy on the roads that if we went over 40mph in our van we would start to loose control. PJ was driving a little fast and we spun out and did a full 360. We all totally thought we were going to die. But, we didn’t. And we made it back to Arkansas eventually. And the show was cool. And all of the kids were cool. We were very excited to play in uncharted territories and have kids singing a lot. Also, they gave us some Little Caesars. That ruled. After, some kid tried to sell Lace some fake weed. That was lame. We did not like that much. But, we did make some real cool new friends who let us stay and there apartment and bought us some beer. Best dudes. We watched the movie “Teeth” which was appalling, to say the least. Its about a girl whos vagina has teeth. I wouldn’t recommend watching it ever, though.  Sidenote: I’m remembering all this now and thinking that it’s weird that I’m thousands of miles from where this occurred, and it was like only a week ago. We woke up early and drove to Dallas, TX.

We got to the venue in Dallas, and a great man named Goose from a great band called Polar Bear Club texted me to inform me that they we’re playing down the street in Dallas that night, too. So since we beat the promoter to the venue, we decided to take a quick run over to see Polar Bear Club on the AP tour at the House of Blues. We got there right as they were starting, and they killed it. One of my favorite bands to see- I was more than content. Headed back to our show, drank some drinks (I think this was the first bar we played on this tour), I ate some ramen, watched some Hostage Calm, and then we played some punk rock. It was fun. Made a cool friend and stayed at his apartment after the show. Good times. We woke up and took the long drive to Midland, TX. We finally made it there and grabbed some McDonalds. There was a girl fight in the parking lot. That was pretty funny. Midland was a weird city. There was a lot of buildings, but no people, and no cars in any of the parking lots. It looked like an established city- but no one was to be found. Ghost Town for sure. I was excited for the show, because we were playing with rad bands. Outbreak, Hour of the Wolf, and Smartbomb would all be playing. Love those bands and was psyched to be playing together.

Worst thing ever happened before the show started. I was walking the corner store with Joe B and Lally and we saw a dog get hit by a car right in front of us. Two assholes were racing their cars down the street and hit the small dog without even noticing. We picked it up to make sure no other cars hit it, but it was definitely dead. Such a bummer.  People suck sometimes a lot. So we headed back to the show, watched the bands kill it, and played our set. It was a good time for sure. We embarked on an overnight drive to Albuquerque, NM. Watched the movie Angus on the ride- it was awesome. Best soundtrack ever.

The New Mexico show was a house show, and we ended up heading straight to the house venue, where they were kind enough to let us crash and hang for the day. Peej and Joe T went to the supermarket and picked up some breakfast materials, and we cooked a whole ton of food. It made the day so much more enjoyable. Sometimes you can’t just eat McDonalds EVERY day. You need to let up, occasionally. So we hung all day. Watched some Dexter. I went skateboarding for a while and kind of wandered around the University of New Mexico campus and some skate shops. Good times. The show was a house party and a real fun time. Everybody had some fun. We decided to do another overnight drive to Mesa, AZ. We stopped to poke some smots and got on the road.

We got to Mesa and hung with our boy Dan who let us crash at his place. He always takes care of us. We hung out all day, made some Ramen, and demoed some acoustic songs in Dan’s room. Stoked on that. We headed to the show.

This show in particular was really awesome because our friends in Balance and Composure and Title Fight we’re playing the upstairs of our venue with Bayside and Senses Fail. There was a lot of friends really happy to see each other thousands of miles from home and we got our hang out on. I was siked to get to watch Balance and TF, they both sounded amazing. It was a real fun night overall. Makes me happy that we have so many friends who get to do what they love and get along doing it. After the show we headed back to Dan’s, watched some skate videos, and finished up our demos. We woke up pretty early and headed to Cali. Our Riverside show got cancelled, so we put a last minute show together in Fullerton thanks to some friends. The show was in a strange practice space venue, but ended up going well for being announced a day earlier. Good times. We headed to one of our favorite place to stay on tour with the Miller’s (best dudes in a great band called the Sheds) and got some rest. We got there at about one, caught up for a few minutes and hit the hay. Now were hanging outside of LA with our boys in the Sheds, I’m sick as fuck, and Morgan just beat me in NHL. I’m also getting yelled at for writing this while everyone is in the van trying to head to the show. So, I’m out.

From Tim Landers:

Hi again. It’s been a few days, so I think I can find some more stuff to talk about. So…after the Fest 9 ended with Frank Turner playing in a parking lot after his set on Halloween night, we reluctantly decided we’d spent enough time in Gainesville and headed out. We drove a couple hours to Orlando to crash on some couches at a house party and got a little bit of sleep before heading to our show in Pembroke Pines. There were some pretty impressive Halloween costumes there. I thought the real Kenny Powers was in attendance for a quick second. The party died out and we crashed. We woke up early enough in the morning and got on the road. We took a pit stop at Wal Mart when we realized we were supposed to get our oil changed about a thousand miles ago. So we dropped the van off, grabbed some shitty pre-made sandwiches and wandered around Wal Mart waiting for the van. About an hour passed, so we figured we’d check out the status of the van. When they told us they hadn’t even looked at it yet (or the 3 cars that we ahead of it when we dropped it off), and that it’d probably be another hour wait, we decided we’d take our business elsewhere. Didn’t see much sense in waiting around any longer for Wal Mart’s auto employees to huff gas out back instead of completing a simple task that shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes. I guess the van would have to survive another day. We headed to Pembroke Pines.

We got to the Talent Farm, ate some pizza, and got ready to play. Aficionado and Hostage Calm killed it, as always. I really like playing there because you can watch the set on TV screens in different parts of the venue. It looks like a 60s TV performance with all the different angles and fades. It’s cool. After the show, we headed to our boy Shane’s place, partied, and crashed. JoeB and I worked on some of the songs for our new acoustic EP.  Stoked on that stuff.

We woke up early and headed to Jacksonville for our show. I threw on the Menzingers and took the drive on. We stopped half way and got our much needed oil change. We made another quick stop in Orlando to pick up some vinyl and CDs that were shipped our buddy Chris’ from the sweet band Go Rydell. We got some more copies of the Transit/Man Overboard split- super stoked on how those came out. We arrived in Jacksonville and we’re really excited to catch up with our boys from Texas in Kid Liberty, as they were on this show, along with our fellow Massachusettians (not a real word) in Lions Lions. The show was at a sketchy little warehouse, and it was pouring rain…so we got some Four Lokos and cheap beer. The show turned out to be a blast. It was Aficionado’s first day of tour with their keyboard player, and that further improved their already awesome live show. Hostage Calms set was a blast, and I had a great time during ours. Jacksonville helped keep our sprits high on a shitty night. The rain was ridiculous, though. No joke, there was at least 4 inches of water accumulated outside of our trailer when we were leaving. It was fucked up. We didn’t have anywhere to stay, so Transit, Kid Liberty, Hostage Calm, and Aficionado all headed to the beautiful Motel 6 to share some hotel rooms. It was great to have everyone hanging out together. We stayed up and had some fun, fit a stupid amount of dudes into a bathroom for some extracurricular activities, and got a little bit of sleep. Apparently, this Motel 6 was very lenient about there 11 o’clock check out time, because I don’t think we left our room till about 1. Our Atlanta, GA show was cancelled, so we didn’t really have anywhere to go. We hung out in the parking lot for a bit with Kid Lib, skateboarding and playing C lo. We finally got ourselves out of there, grabbed some Chinese food, and went to guitar center to kill some time. Saw some of the dudes in Strike Anywhere in there, I guess they were playing Jacksonville that night. So were all the awesome dudes in the Wonder Years and Four Year Strong. Wish we could of made it to either of the shows, but we headed to Alabama so we could get there with a place to crash before 5 AM. I was definitely not ready for an  8 hour ride after not even playing a show. We grabbed some drinks and made the best of it, though. Sometime in the middle of the ride, we stopped at some random gas station to urinate, and Hostage Calm was there too. We we’re all out of it, and sick of being in our vans, so we were all super excited to see each other. So we had some smokes and hung for a quick minute. It’s just funny how little things like that can positively change everyone’s mood and mindset so quickly. Good shit. We got to Birmingham at about one or two in the morning, and I ended up crashing in the van. It was a nice chilly night for it. We woke up and hung with Aficionado all day, made some ramen, and listened to them practice downstairs. I worked on some songs, too. We headed over to the Firehouse for the show way too early. It seems we can’t ever quite be on the right time. We either way to early or wayy to late. And it’s never fashionable. We took some promos with a new friend, hung out for a bit then the show started. All the bands sounded great. I had a blast during Hostage Calm’s set. They’re seriously my favorite band. It was Hostage Calm’s road dawg Luke’s last night. Best dude, such a bummer. So we headed over to his brothers house and had a Transit/Hostage Calm/Aficionado hang out party. It was too much fun. There was a small scale rave going on downstairs, a listening party of a CD we found called “Bong Jovi” (awesome), an indoor basketball hoop competition going nonstop, and some way too fun dice drinking games going on between Hostage Calm and I. Good night for sure.

Now we’re heading to Arkansas for our show tonight. We’ve never played in this state before, so I’m excited to see some new stuff. I’m listening to the Format (wishing they were still a band) and hoping I didn’t ramble on too much in this update. Hope you enjoyed it.

From Tim Landers:

SUP. I’m sitting in Florida at a cool little venue called the Talent Farm. I’m trying really hard to remember the last 3 or 4 days of my life. It’s tough when you spent them at a really sweet punk festival in the sunshine state, where every band you love and know from across the country is hanging out, and really really insisting on drinking heavily…the whole time. But here goes nothing.

So the show at Rocketown in Nashville was really, really awesome. Definitely one of my favorite on this tour so far. We got to the show a little early, loaded in and got our hang out on. JoeB and I went over some old songs that we’re reworking to put on our acoustic EP. After, I headed across the street to the indoor/outdoor skateparks and got my shred on a little at both. Rocketown really knows what’s up with the skateparks. Shit was so rad. My wrists survived another skatepark show. A bunch of new and old friends from Nashville came out and made our show a blast. The sound and PA in the room was on point, too. Hostage Calm sounded immaculate. Sadly, Aficionado had decided to not play the show was on their way down to the Fest. Missed them. Our set was a blast. Good times in Nashville. We did a little relaxing and fucxing at a new friends house after the show, stacked up on some snacks, then hit the road for an 11 hour drive to Gainesville, FL for the Fest 9. We were stoked. For some reason, I was feeling very good about driving. I think I knocked out about 8 hours before I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore and JoeB stepped in and took the wheel. I got to listen to a bunch of new records from Madball, Iron Chic, and Carpenter though so that was cool. I think I listened to like four Death Cab CDs, too. That shit is perfect.

We got to Gainesville around noon and checked into a homey little Motel 6 for showers and naps. But we were all too stoked just to be at the fest so we did exactly what our instincts told us to- Went to Mcdolands, the Liquor store, and headed over to the shows early.

We had a free show at a lazer tag/bar venue thing late that night with Hostage Calm and a bunch of great bands, so we handed out and hung up some flyers for that. We had a blast walking around, seeing awesome bands, and getting ready for our show- which turned out to be way cooler than we could’ve imagined. It was about 10:30 by the time us and Hostage Calm started, so I’m pretty sure a majority of the attendees had definitely spent a whole lot of their day altering their mind set. Or at least so it seemed. Both our sets were a blast, only set back was that they capped off the venue very early so a lot of people couldn’t get in. It still ruled.

So here is the point where I really need to do some summarizing of the weekend. I could ramble on for hours about how awesome the rest of the weekend was, and how stoked I was to see almost all of my favorite bands, and how wild everyone got…but that would take pages and I’m not going to lie- my memory of it all is far from perfect. So I will sum it up…

The Fest is the coolest thing ever. Straight up. I got to see so many of my favorite bands: Lemuria, Make Do and Mend, Frank Turner, La Dispute, Defeater, Algernon Cadwallader, Banner Pilot, the Menzingers, Paint It Black, Grown Ups, Such Gold, Hostage Calm, and so many for that I’m probably going to kick myself for forgetting to name. The overall feel of the Fest was just the coolest thing ever. Everyone was just friendly, so excited to be there, and having the best time. It just made me really happy to be a part of the music scene I am a part of, and really reminded me that I play music for the right reasons. And, that there is a shitload of others who are in it for the right reasons too. It was a really reassuring weekend that I know I’ll never forget. So now that I got all mushy and lame- I’m gonna end things here. PEACE.

From Tim Landers:

So, we said our goodbyes to Baltimore and headed further south. It was my turn to drive, so I grabbed a cup of coffee, threw on Superchunk’s Here’s Where the Strings Come In and we hit the road. I think we may of lasted about a half hour before a food stop was called for. We found a nice little exit in  Chil Fil A / Wackarnold’s territory. After some chicken sandwiches and waffle fries (not FO FREE unfortunately) we got back on the road. I think I called my mom, too (totally missing her). The rest of the drive was pretty cool…we got to see the Pentagon for the first time. That was sweet.  We caught up with Hostage Calm on the road and put our strangely similar looking vans to an epic race. I think they won. But, I also think I’m the only one who thought it was a race.

We got to Virginia beach and loaded into Skate High. Definitely a really rad venue/skatepark. We ate some complimentary PB & J sandwiches, then Lace and I got our shred on. I think I quit a little early after I fell on my wrist a couple times. Didn’t really need to end the tour early on account of me being an idiot and breaking a bone. It’s just too hard to resist a sweet mini ramp. You know?

We were stoked to play Virginia Beach. It was our first show in that area ever- which is a cool thing. It’s nice to play to a fresh crowd after we’ve been on tour for the past four-ish months, circling the country. The show was great, the crowd was awesome and treated us real well. They were very energetic during our set, which was a blast for us. Had some fun singalongs. There was a bunch of cute girls too, which is always rad. It was also the first show of tour where the PA actually worked. That ruled. It was the first night Aficionado played and it was my first time getting to see them. They we’re great. Definitely an awesome band. Hostage Calm killed it too, as always.

After the show, our new friend Laura took us to the supermarket to get some frozen foods and beer, and we had some fun hangouts at her place. We watched “the Basketball Diaries” which turned out to have very little to do with basketball. It actually wasn’t about basketball at all. Good movie, but just one of those ones that leaves you real bummed out at the end.

We woke up in the morning and headed to North Carolina for our show in Greensboro at Legitimate Business. Our homies in Such Gold we’re playing the show too so we were stoked. There was a torn up mini ramp in the back and we got our shred on. The show kind of turned into an unspoken party night for all the bands- Transit, Hostage Calm, Aficionado, and Such Gold. Needless to say, there were way too many Four Lokos consumed. That’s what happens when you play BYOB venues, I guess.

Lally passed out in the van before we even left the show. Bobby was starting circle pits like it was nobody’s business. Such Gold’s merch dude O Rock was giving speeches about Waka Flaka during a few sets. Things got pretty out of hand in the best way possible. It was definitely an awesome night. After the show we went to a sweet BBQ place called Cookout with Such Gold and had some more hangs. Lally was still passed out. We found a floor to crash on and did our best to get some sleep. But, there was so many distractions…like a pet hedgehog, and a PS2 with Tony Hawk 2 and 007. Lally stumbled in some time in the middle of the night and caused a ruckus. Pretty standard night.

We woke up the next morning and headed to the (in most of our opinions) the better of the Carolinas. Oddly enough, after playing Greensboro, NC the night before, we were playing Greenville, SC that night. We got to the show, and made some friends pretty quick through dice games with change and 99 cent Yuenglings at the corner store. You know a store is cool when their beer is cheaper than their water. I was into it. That night we were playing a small fest called the Quest For Fest. Apparently, the night before fucking awesome bands like Iron Chic, Pianos Become Teeth, and Into It Over It had played. We were bummed we didn’t get to see them. Such Gold didn’t have a show booked that night, so they showed up with us and the venue was kind enough to let them play a set before ours. We were all stoked. The show was really cool, we got to see a lot of rad bands. To top it off, our boys from Texas in Kid Liberty had a SC show cancelled so they came out to hang as well. Always the best of times when we’re together. Lots of parking lot partying that night. We sad some sad goodbyes to good friends and hit the road with Hostage Calm to cut the drive to Nashville, TN in half and stay with our new friend Sammy from Fingers Crossed. We showed up at about 5 AM and got some sleep. We woke up and Hostage Calm was gone…because I guess they can’t stand to spend time with us. Or maybe they just went to get their friend at the airport. Yeah, yeah that was it. Sammy and I got to talking in the morning, and actually ended up trading our Marshall heads…imagine that. My JCM 2000 for his JCM 900. Both parties we’re stoked. Can’t wait to play with that tonight.

Currently, I’m sitting in the van on the second half of said drive. We just ate some dollar menu Waffle House and it obviously ruled. We play at Rockettown in Nashville, TN tonight. It’s another skatepark venue…we’re pumped to shred.

PropertyOfZack is thrilled to finally be revealing something we’ve been keeping on the down-low for the past few weeks… Transit has agreed to be the next band featured on PropertyOfZack’s new Road Blog feature and we could not be more stoked! The band released one of the best records of the year this past summer called Keep This To Yourself and if you have yet to listen, you should change that. Tim Landers will be updating us all every few days while the boys are out on tour with details on their shows, van life, and more. Get reading and enjoy!

From Tim Landers:

Hi. My name is Tim…I play guitar and sing in a band called Transit. Our friend Zack from PropertyOfZack.com asked us to keep a tour journal/blog/thing for this tour we are currently on. So, yeah…here it is.

Currently, I’m sitting next to a mini-ramp at a skatepark/venue called Skate High (we thought that was funny) in Virginia Beach, listening to Hostage Calm kill it. Sidenote: they seriously rule- listen to their new record.

On October 22nd we embarked on this tour with two great bands called Hostage Calm and Aficionado. Well, it was only Hostage Calm and us on the first 3 dates, but yesterday we met up with the Aficionado dudes/girl and tonight is their first night fucxing. They actually just played, and it was sweet. Very excited for this tour.

SO, the first night of tour was a Halloween show in West Haven, CT. It was funny as hell, to say the least. We were extremely impressed with the intensity factor of the costumes. There were dudes in full hockey gear- skating around the pit, a band dressed up as the full Starwars cast, a cardboard box, and…I think jesus was there. Yeah, yeah he was. Definitely a good time overall. Hostage Calm stole the show. They were in full Boston sports team gear (we clearly get along in the sports world now) and played the best stadium song covers. Too funny.

Next, we had a show right in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA at a place called the Democracy Center. It was a great group of friends. Homies in Such Gold, Maker, Late Nite Wars, and newfound homies in a great band called Building. The show was great, Felipe’s burritos we’re greater, and things got fun and sweaty. Such Gold had  a fucking awesome set- totally killed it. As did all the other bands. Cambridge showed us some love, and it was a great last night in town to see all our friends. Definitely a blast.

After the show we all headed back to our towns for one last night at home. We all got to see our friends one last time, and get some various partying on. I think I started packing at four in the morning…I definitely didn’t get ANY sleep that night. So, we all met up around 7 AM with tired eyes, sore heads, and beat bodies to head to Baltimore. We made a quick pit stop in Boston to pick up our merchandise gypsy, Bobby Morris the great, and say our last goodbyes to Taylor and Jeff at the Run For Cover jixxerpartment. I slept literally the whole ride. I woke up once to fucx at WaWa…aka the best place created. We made it to the Charm City Artspace and had a great time at the show, regardless of a faulty PA. After the show, our homies in Make Do And Mend, Defeater, and new friends in Living With Lions showed up for some hanging out outside the show. All great dudes and great bands- check em out. We stayed with the dudes in Hostage Calm and got our male bonding on. Met some cool cats (like, the animals), Slayer and Tiger, and woke up early to head to Virginia Beach.

Tour has been rad thus far. I’m stoked to watch Hostage Calm and Aficionado every night. Apparently I’ll be keeping you updated. Sorry in advance if this sucks. Thanks for reading.
