I got there, it was beautiful out, I was so stoked. I wasn’t quite sure where my seat was going to be…FIVE ROWS BACK, DEAD CENTER. I died and went to heaven, it made it so much more amazing.
Taking Back Sunday came on and they sounded damn good. They played for about 40 minutes I think. “Cute Without The E” was fantastic, I lost my voice for a bit after that song. Sad part was that that was the only song they played off of Tell All Your Friends. I was so happy that they played “Set Phasers To Stun” though, that’s one of my favorite songs. Fazzi sounded better this time than he did at Bamboozle, props to him with his broken foot. Once again, it pissed me off that they having a touring guitarist, he is not needed one bit, it’s ridiculous. Adam was pretty mental, he went into the crowd picking people up by their collars if they weren’t standing up, it was cool.
I’m indifferent to Weezer, I just don’t get them, but they were cool. They would switch up instruments, at one point Rivers walked off for a whole song and they played and sang without him. Then Rivers went around and played drums and bass as well. He’s an interesting guy. Overall, they were fine, didn’t enjoy but didn’t mind.
blink-182 came on and..wow. Right off the back it was so much better than last time, and last time was perfect. Tom sounded better, Mark sounded better, Travis didn’t need to sound better, but he was more and more incredible. He’s the most talented musician I have ever seen, I don’t care what people say, seeing what he does live and how hard he does it is incredible. They played “Obvious” and “Going Away To College” which they didn’t last time I went. “Obvious” sounded amazing, so great. They were all so happy, Mark was actually cracking up at Tom and Travis was having a great time. Travis’ solo was intense, the pictures I got of it are even better. “Carousel” and “Dammit” were great as well. Tom was making so many jokes he screwed up a few times. Also, apparently P!ATD gave blink a bass as a present for taking them on tour, so Mark brought it out on stage and threw it into the ocean like Pete Wentz did to Mark two years ago. It was hilarious. God, seeing them in less than 24 hours.
