Young Statues are currently out on a great summer tour with The Early November, The Wonder Years, and The Swellers. Carmen from the band will be keeping fans up to date on PropertyOfZack with a new Road Blog from the tour, so check out the first update below and come back for more each week!

So happy I’m able to do some more tour updates for PropertyOfZack, seriously one of my favorite and most frequented websites. We just started our tour with The Early November, The Wonder Years, and The Swellers on Wednesday at Irving Plaza in NYC. So far it’s been a blast, I can’t believe how many friends are on this tour! We’ve been close with the Early November for a long time, and I became friends with The Swellers last year, so being able to tour with them and hang out every day has been a treat for us. Also, meeting The Wonder Years dudes for the first time is great. I can’t say enough good things about them as people, and as a band they put on a hell of a show every night. 

So far we’ve played New York City, Rochester, and tonight in Cleveland. All of the kids have been so energetic and excited to see these bands, and it makes me happy to see them supporting all of us so hard. The payoff after all of the long drives and late nights come from all of the smiling kids at the show, so thank you to every single person who has come out so far. I grew up listening to The Early November and going to see them live, so to be doing this tour is the coolest for me. Their new record rules, and you’re all gonna love it.

Hey all, this is the final tour update from our run with A Great Big Pile of Leaves and Mansions. Where I last left off, we had just finished SXSW and were beginning the second leg of the tour. 

I’d like to let the pictures do most of the talking in this post, but I will say that the second half of the tour was definitely just as much fun as the first. Chicago was so great, we got to hang out with a bunch of close friends, and the show was awesome, easily one of the best. Also, during the second half of the tour we were able to record a Daytrotter session. Daytrotter was a blast, and the songs sounded so cool. Can’t wait for you all to hear it! 

Getting back to the East Coast was nice, the shows were great, and being so close to home felt good. We ended the tour with a sold out show at The Middle East in Boston. To end the tour on such a high note was an amazing feeling for everyone, I think it made us all wish we had another 30 shows together. Couldn’t have asked for better people or bands to do this tour with, I consider them all lifelong friends, and I will remember this forever.

Just about halfway through the tour now, and I can already say this is the most fun I’ve ever had. This is our first time playing in many of these cities, and to meet a bunch of people who enjoy our band has been a real treat. After we finished our Florida shows, we all began the 19 hour trek to Austin for SXSW. We were able to break up the drive about halfway through with the dudes from A Great Big Pile of Leaves in Mobile, AL. Stopped at a restaurant to celebrate Tucker’s birthday, and the meal was so good. Some southern specialties including gumbo were enjoyed by all, and at the end we sang happy birthday for Tucker at the top of our lungs. You can see how happy this made him in the picture I’ve included. We arrived in Austin on Tuesday to play the Topshelf records showcase. Kevin and Seth at Topshelf are very great dudes and did an awesome job putting on the show. So many good bands! The rest of the week after that was a bit of a blur, we did the Never Say Never festival and 5 more SXSW shows in 3 days. Needless to say, everyone was pretty exhausted. I guess having too much fun can be tiring too. But so glad that I was able to see so many of my best friends and enjoy the craziness that is SXSW with them. Yesterday we played at Six Flags Dallas which was a lot of fun, and now have our first day off in a while before continuing the tour with AGBPOL and Mansions in Oklahoma City tomorrow. Everyone has been so great to us so far and I hope we can find the same in the second half of the tour. No more van problems either, fingers crossed!
