I can’t believe we are done. The last couple weeks and a half have been an experience of a lifetime. The atmosphere was peaceful, Matt Mahaffey and his wife were more then welcoming to us, and the songs we tracked are hands down the best songs we have ever written as a group. Having Dave Melillo as a new member has only Made everything more cohesive. We worked our asses off to make sure the record is diverse, but still a classic Anarbor record. As a vocalist, I can say that I was more comfortable recording these songs then any songs we have before.  I can’t wait for you all to hear everything and see us on new tours, and listen to the new songs live.  See you this year ;)

Anarbor are right in the middle of the recording process for their new album, and Mike Kitlas was kind enough to send in a new Behind The Booth to PropertyOfZack to let fans in on what’s been going on in the studio. Check out the update below!

Day 12 in the studio today and I couldn’t be any happier with how the record is coming together! As of tonight, all drums, bass, andguitars on the album will be complete and Slade will begin tracking vocals.  The past week and half has been a complete blur, long days in the studio, followed by even longer nights, but nothing feels better then to be back in a studio making music with my best friends.  There are songs on the record that we wrote over a year ago and to hear them recorded feels great, I can honestly say there is not one song on the record, we are not proud of.  We’ve pushed ourselves a lot on this album and we really wanted to create a sound that is our own, we’ve grown up a lot since our last release and I really think you can hear that in our lyrics and music.  We cant wait to release the new material and show you all what we’ve been working on. Today is our third day in Franklin, Tennessee at our producer Matt Mahaffey’s beautiful home studio. His house is beautiful. We’re literally in the middle of the forest. Imagine the M. Night Shamalan film “The Village.” 

These past few days have been Matt and I slaving away on drum tones and really solidifying my parts. I couldn’t be happier with how things are coming along. We’re doing a lot of experimentation with different drums, tunings, timings, placements, and it’s really paying off to step outside my comfort zone and let things just happen naturally. 

We’re definitely enjoying our fair share of Tennessee whiskey every night, while Matt and his wife our sticking to their wine collection. Also, Yuengling…so tasty! 

Today Slade and Dave are gonna start working on bass parts, so I get to relax a little bit and enjoy the peace and quiet.
