From Adam Blasco:

This week has been full of ups and downs for us. Unfortunately, some of the… not best shows of this tour, but also the best shows of the tour. When I left off on the last blog, we were driving to Binghampton, NY for a festival of sorts. We played with some of our best friends, Forever Came Calling, and got to see our buds in Handguns amongst a bunch of other bands. The show was awesome, and the first night of our tour that we saw snow. From New York, we embarked on an overnight drive to Pittsburgh. This was an interesting drive. Why, you may ask?! About halfway through our drive, there was a car pulled off to the side of the road with its hazards blinking. Just as we were passing the car, there was a huge deer laying in the middle of the road. When I say huge, I mean it probably spanned the width of the van, and was about a couple feet high. I don’t know if that’s typically a big deer for you Northeastern Folk, but that’s pretty damn big for us desert boys. So the stopped car had already done the damage, we might as well finish it off… It felt like we hit a speed bump. Thankfully it didn’t to any substantial damage to the van, but it woke everyone up who was previously asleep. We pulled off to check out the damage and we relieved to find that there was only minor damage done to our trailer. The upside was that our trailer now looked, as Scott (Born Without Bones) would put it, ‘Fuckin’ Bad Ass!’ There was blood splatter up the front and down the sides, impact splatter on the diamond plating across the bottom, and the freshest of dear meat hanging from the chains connecting the van to the trailer. After assessing the situation, we finished the drive to Pittsburgh where we invaded the home of a family friend of Austin.

Pittsburgh was a pretty eventful day. While everyone slept, Chris and I drove around to 3 or 4 different places to get an oil change that didn’t have a two hour wait. After about two hours (ironically), we finally found a place that could get us in and on our way. We headed back to the house and picked everyone up for the show. We played at an awesome DIY art space called Most Wanted Fine Art. The owner was awesome, and the show was a lot of fun. The best surprise of the night came about halfway through our set when two our our best friends, Koji, who we started this tour out with, and our buddy Mitchell Wojcik. Mitch is a photographer who has done promos fo

From Adam Blasco:

Once again, from a Starbucks in Wilkes-Barre, PA, I’m beginning the third installment of Last Call’s Road Blog Extravaganza. I feel that this one will be a bit shorter than the others, as I’ve slacked off a bit this past week, and will be writing 100% from my memory. Hopefully I don’t forget too much of the cool shit. We started off last week with something that every touring band loves: we went to Fayetteville, NC where Lyle’s family lives and got to sleep in a nice warm house, eat a delicious home-cooked meal, and meet/hang out with some awesome people. It was hard to say goodbye and head to Virginia Beach, VA. VAB is awesome; we’ve got a bunch of awesome friends there, and both of the shows on this tour were great. It was only sad because that was our absolute last show with our good friend KOJI. We played an acoustic set with Karen Estrella, a singer/songwriter from VAB. Karen has alway supported and followed Last Call in all the we’ve done, but really caught our attention a few months ago when we randomly posted a video on YouTube of her rendition of one of our songs, Glassell St. (from our 12:57 EP). That blew our minds, so we were REALLY looking forward to seeing her play live. She played an awesome set, and with a bit of coaxing, we even got her to play Glassell St. live. We had a great time playing our set, but Koji’s set was what wrapped the entire night up on a great note. He played his normal set, then proceeded to play songs shouted out by kids in the crowd. After the show, we had a couple hours left with each other, so we took full advantage to hang out and talk with each other before we all headed our separate directions.

We drove overnight from VAB to Brooklyn where the majority of our band was seeing for the first time ever. We parked our van at the Mightier Than Sword HQ and headed into the city for the day. We took the train to Manhattan and got off at Times Square. We spent the next few hours walking around and seeing the sights, visiting stores, and of course eating New York Pizza. Early in the afternoon, we headed back to the MTS HQ to take care of some mail-order, and other things before picking up our good buddy RJ (Owner of MTS) and heading to our show in Long Island. This was the first time that everyone but myself had met RJ in person, but it was like we’ve all known each other for years. We spent the next day and a half hanging out with RJ & his roommate Jayme at the Dirty Driggs (their apartment in Brooklyn), in the city, and at our Brooklyn show. We all had a blast, and finished out our first New York trip with a little business meeting at the MTS HQ. We hashed out a few more details about our upcoming release(s) which is super exciting for us.

From Adam Blasco:

Welcome to the second installment of the Last Call Fall Tour blog extravaganza. Over the last week, we’ve gotten to see a lot of the east coast (most of which most of us have never seen) and hang out with some of our best friends. Last week, we wrapped up the last half of our short run with our brothers in Such Gold. The shows were amazing, and the time that we got to hang out with them was even better. Last Tuesday, we played in York Haven, PA, about 20 minutes outside of Harrisburg. On the drive down, I had a conference call with RJ & Buddy at Mightier Than Sword. Every time I get off the phone with them, I’m always super excited. Without giving too much away, I’ll say that I’m VERY excited to be solidifying details on the recording & production of LC’s debut full-length, which will be coming out in 2012. MUAHAHAHA! Anyway, we showed up to an awesome venue, suitably called the Boondocks„, literally in the middle of the Pennsylvanian Boondocks. Strewn with Halloween decorations, and surrounded by creepy old abandoned buildings (including a haunted house across the street), this place looked like the prime setting for a horror film. After a much needed soccer/frisbee/scooter/hang sesh with all of the Such dudes, and an attempt to explore the aforementioned haunted house, we loaded in gear. It was nice to nerd out with Devan about drums for a little while while we got down on the pizza and wings that showed up. The York Haven Fest started around 6:30 PM… there were 4 local bands opening the show before we (opening the tour package) got to play. As Koji so nicely put it, it was a long night; a bit of an endurance test for us all, to say the least. All of the bands ended up being rad, and the show’s energy, turnout, etc. made for an awesome night. We’ve played with Such Gold a few times, and they stayed with me in Vegas earlier this year, but none of us had ever gotten a chance to get to know their lovely merch guy O-Rock, Koji, or his TM Drew. This was only night two of the Such Gold/Koji/Last Call run, and by the end of that night, it honestly felt like everyone had known each other for years. We spent at least an hour at the venue after SG finished playing just hanging out, bullshitting and having fun. I think that night, the bar had been set for future tours to attempt to beat this out as ‘BEST TOUR EVER’ tour. Once everyone was ready to go their separate ways for the night, Koji left for his house, Such Gold made way to their hotel room for the night, and LC boldly embarked on the overnight drive down the East Coast to Virginia Beach.

Last Call is currently on tour with Such Gold and Koji, and the band has been kind enough to start up a Road Blog for PropertyOfZack. Read up on the first entry and check back for more!

From Adam Blasco:

Every day, I write a little bit about what we did that day, but rather than a daily diary entry, I want this road blog to be more of an overall summation of our experiences. Being that this is our first time traveling anywhere east of Texas (as a band), this week has been full of ‘firsts’, and some awesome experiences that none of us will forget. Today is day #8 of Last Call’s first US tour, and I’m sitting in a Starbucks in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Before I get into the past week, I want to talk about how amazing everything is here. Being from Las Vegas, where we don’t have any trees, and no real differentiation or indicators of seasons, I’m in awe when I look around from where I’m sitting. There are mountains in every direction covered with trees in different shades of reds, yellows and oranges. The air is noticeably cleaner than home, and chillingly refreshing. You really learn to appreciate these kinds of things when it’s not something that you see day to day. If you’re from this area, don’t take what you’ve got for granted. Enjoy it, and take full advantage of it.

A week ago from today, we loaded up the trailer full of all of our gear, put all of our shit into the van, and made our way up to St. George, UT to begin our first ever trek out to the East Coast of the US. We weren’t really sure what to expect. Shortly before our tour began, we got word that 3 out of the 5 shows on our way out to Pennsylvania had fallen through for whatever reason. We’re obviously not a band with a lot of money as a band or individually,  so this wasn’t only frustrating & stressful, but a bit frightening. Hoping for the best, we hit the road. From the very beginning, something that Last Call isn’t at all used to happened… things seemed to be working in our favor. We began filling those empty dates, and nerves were becoming settled. We pulled into the back lot at the Gogo 37 in St. G, and began loading in. After grabbing some food, we returned to the venue and we’re pleasantly surprised by the turnout on this Tuesday night. Our friends in Fever Dreams ended up being the only other band playing that night, and killed it as always. The show was awesome, and hanging out at and after the show was a blast. Being that we essentially had 4 days to get from home to the opposite coast of the country, many of the first few nights were spent driving. Night number one, we drove for about 14 hours from St. George to Denver, CO where we dropped off the van for an oil change and headed to Illegal Pete’s for burritos. I know that cramming 7 adults into a 5 seater car sounds like a blast, and an opportunity you’d jump at after spending 14 hours in a van. So, we did just that. We made our way through the city, and finally arrived at Pete’s. These burritos (or some of them at least) were amazing. Our TM Chris lives in Denver, so we met up with one of his friends at an Ice Cream shop downtown before heading back to his house to clean up & chill for a minute. Before we knew it, it was once again time to drive.
