Let It Happen are out on tour with Of Fortune & Fame and will be doing a Road Blog for PropertyOfZack. Check out the first update below!
We are on day six of the Bath Salts…I mean Summer Vacation Tour. So far, every show we’ve had has been amazing. We kicked off the tour with a show in downtown Louisville at a pizza place called Spinelli’s. Our dude Bryan Puckett set up the show with some great local bands (Low Lights for Fist Fights, Aim for the Skies, and Late Ones) and it was the first time I got to see the other band we’re on tour with, Of Fortune & Fame, play live. They are amazing musicians with a really good live set. Not to mention they are the coolest guys. We got there pretty early so we had a chance to walk around downtown Louisville and see what was going on. Fourth Street Live had a pretty big party going on and the Louisville Gay Pride Parade was going on right around the corner. Needless to say, we met some very interesting people. Also, Spinelli’s has some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and it’s a really cool place. If you’re ever in Louisville, go check it out, it’s at the corner of 5th and Jefferson.
Day two, we made our way down to Clarksville, Tennessee to play at The Coup. The night before we drove down and stayed with Nick and Lawton from What We Were. They have such an amazing family. They let us stay in their mom Susan’s house, so there were 11 smelly dudes sleeping in her living room and she was more than happy to accommodate us all. In the morning we woke up to her cooking food for us and then she offered to do all our laundry. The next day, we drove down to the venue with everyone. The Coup has a really awesome grungy basement/warehouse feel to it. It’s in the basement of a building with (obviously) a stage, a mini-ramp, and graffiti all over the walls. The setting was really intimate and it’s always great to play that close to people. It was definitely the hottest place we’ve ever played though. We all were drenched after we played and so was everyone in the splash zone. It’s ok though because it was sexy. Susan was amazing once again because she knew we were all about to die from the heat so she went to the gas station and bought Gatorade for all of us! She is a Saint. We had a lot of fun hanging out down there with everyone. The other bands (What We Were and Almost Atlantic) were great too and we all look forward to seeing them again soon. I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad time anywhere in Tennessee and I look forward to going back to Clarksville again soon.
